It has been 3 weeks since she became their official Lord, but she was still getting used to the title. She was constantly informed by almost anyone of things happening in the village.

Water salty? Reported immediately. Apples green before harvest? Reported immediately. Vegetables getting harvested? Reported immediately.

She was getting more overwhelmed by the day and her lead guard could see it in the way she carried herself. Rena could tell as well that their fair Lord was mentally overwhelmed.

Rena agreed to Agor that something needed to be done, so they began to talk to Lord Elly about this. As they talked, an idea struck Rena, what if she was in charge of knowing all this information?

Further talking confirmed how beneficial this would be to their new leader. All Rena would really need to tell her was anything actually important that was happening, such as the well drying or the crops failing.

With that, Lord Elly appointed Rena to be her advisor and sent her away to inform the people of such. Leaving her and Agor to talk.

"My Lord, I hope you are doing better now that you have a helper."

"Very much so... I'm glad someone else has to hear about the leaves falling and the grass swaying."

He chuckled, contagiously making her chuckle as well.

"Well, do remember My Lord, you are in charge here. If you need something done, it is good to ask for someone else to do it for you."

"Yes, thank you for helping me. I'm still getting used to the whole role as it is."

He nodded and asked if she needed anything else, to which she said no. He began to walk away but stopped when a large bird flew overhead, dropping something near her feet.

She picked it up, confused as it had a tree symbol on the front of the roll of paper. He came over and looked at it,

"The Elves? Why are they contacting you?"

She looked even more confused looking at him then back at the paper, opening it and beginning to read it out loud for him to hear,

"To the Lord of the village of the two bay mountains. The Counsel has decided to make you an allie if you so wish. However, you will not be allowed to bring any guards with you. You must come to the Elven Forest before the falling of dead leaves comes."

She looked at him, obviously wanting answers on who this Counsel was and if it could be a trap. After all, the evil Thorn King was still out there, and she didn't even know how they knew this little village existed anyways.

Either way, a new allie could be great, but they didn't have much resources to begin with. Sure they're fields were up and running but that didn't mean they had enough to give through trade.

After much thought it was decided on what to do. As much as the risk was, most likely worth it, as Elves were known to have rare materials and plants that would benefit the village greatly.
