A very long time ago, a king desired for his son to be a knight. The king's name was John and he had a son named Isaac. He also married a girl named Victoria who would soon be important to the United Kingdom. However, the story does not begin there. That is merely just the back story of Isaac.

The Roman Empire fell to ashes when King John burned it down. That event started what we know as the Middle Ages. A few years later he married Victoria and had a son. His son was not very strong, but he was just as weak as a peasant. He grew an interest in books and was said to be smart by his private tutors, but his father wanted him to burn down the Roman Empire just like he did. Isaac was a peace lover, and he could not do such a thing. This changed one day however.

"But father..." Isaac said.

"No buts! You are to do as I have told you. Now go back and practice, I don't want to see your face again until you have shown me your worth of a knight!" the king yelled.

"But..." Isaac said again.

"Silence! Go now and do as I have said," the king scolded.

Isaac walked out of the room to go to the courtyard. He carried a saddened face with him. The king hadn't noticed that Isaac was smart in books, not in fighting, and his expectations grew even more each time Isaac failed. Once Isaac had reached the courtyard, he grabbed a sword from a metal container. He then ordered one of the observers to get the knight, Johan. Johan was the son of Tibius, who trained king John.

"You have ordered me, my prince," Johan said while bowing.

"You know what to do. My father is expecting me to do much greater, but it seems like I cannot do so. He gave me an obligation to train here with you," Isaac explained.

"I have laid down my life to train you my prince. Whatever the king desires, I shall defer to them," Johan said. He took his blade out of his sheathe. "Shall we begin?" Johan asked.

"Yes," Isaac said.

Isaac held up his blade, and so did Johan. They looked at each other for a few seconds then Isaac ran up to Johan with the tip of his sword behind his shoulder. He swung it, but Johan blocked it however. Johan being a great knight would go easy on Isaac, but he felt something different today. Isaac pushed forward with his blade, but was only push back by Johan's power.

"Please, at least try my highness," Johan said. He then ran up to Isaac who was still getting up. Isaac blocked the first attack, but the second attack Johan made had flung his blade into the air. It fell right near the entrance of the door. Someone was observing through the door however. When Isaac turned around, his eyes grew bigger. It was the king himself looking at his son fighting. Johan bowed in the presence of the king, while Isaac stood there staring at him.

"I did not raise a peasant to be the leader of this army," the king said angrily, "You are not my son anymore, just merely but a fool who claims to be a prince. I want no sight of you again, for you have broken my heart. You are now banished out of this kingdom. Leave now and go to another land. I don't need a fool like you in my Palace," the king finished.

Isaac started to sob. How could the king be so harsh? He lay on the ground crying. His mother was also observing him, but she could not say anything because of the king's power. His mother stayed there staring at him, while Isaac stared at her. She walked away quickly as if she just saw an ugly beast. Isaac continued to cry, but soon enough stopped. He gathered his stuff with sadness, and rode a horse, went on a ship, and walked all of the way to Germany. This is where his desire for his father's love began.

"Hello my friends," Isaac said. He was now at the age of 17, and he mostly hung out with the older people.

Isaac had walked into a bar. There was rum and all types of alcohol all over the place. The men in the bar greeted Isaac.

"Isaac my boy, come sit next to me!" a man said. He had a gray beard and gray hair. His eyes were dark blue as well, and he wore old ragged clothing. Isaac came and sat next to the man.

"Aye, give us two glasses of rum please," the man said. "How are you doing?" the man asked.

"I'm fine sir. I was passing by the store to go help old Helen, so I came to the decision of wandering in here. I may as well ask how you are?" Isaac said. The bartender then gave them their two glasses. The old man drank it all in less than 20 seconds, while Isaac only took two gulps.

"I've been fine as well my boy!" the old man said. The man then pushed his glass down on the tablet, and let out a refreshing "ah."

"Oh, I have to leave before I become late for old Helen. I will see you tomorrow. Bye," Isaac said.

"Bye my boy!" the old man said. Isaac finished his drink and left the building. He walked into a forest and up a hill to get to old Helen's house. Old Helen was a mysterious woman whom everybody loved hearing stories from. She is sometimes called the grandmother of all. Isaac knocked on the door, and old Helen opened it.

"How are you? Come in my child," old Helen said.

"I'm fine," Isaac said while walking in. He put his coat on a coat hanger she had on her wall. Old Helen's house was very big. She had at least 10 rooms and three floors. She usually cooked a lot, and she also told stories to the children.

Old Helen went to her pot, and she looked inside.

"I see something. It's like a forest of light and darkness. It was made into a maze, but something is off about it. Be careful now," old Helen said.

"You silly old hag, there isn't anything wrong with the forest," Isaac said.

"I see another forest. Not the one in front of my house but one near Italy," old Helen said while smiling. "You just wait and see," old Helen continued.

They carried on for the rest of the day, until Isaac had to go home. He left her house, and arrived home safely. After about two hours he thought about his father.

"I need his love back. But what can I do? I can't burn down the Roman Empire, but I can burn down the palace," Isaac said. He smiled devilishly.

"I guess I can regain his love for me after all. I will be on my way tomorrow," Isaac finished.

He went to sleep. Tomorrow would change his life forever.
