i sat close to the lake with my legs up to my chest, on a cold saturday morning with hermione as ron, harry and the twins were still at breakfast. "hermione, what do you think of Iris?" i asked my best friend, throwing a rock into the icy cold lake as she peered up from the newspaper on her lap.

"I suppose she's alright, she seems a bit off though.." she started, tucking her hair behind her hair as i chuckled quietly. "im glad im not the only one who thinks that, angelina thinks im bloody off my head for thinking that." i sighed, as she frowned. "well, why do you think that?" hermione asked curiously, now folding up the paper.

"when i was walking with fred to defence against the dark arts, she just came up behind us and asked if fred could show her down to the dungeons. fred obviously declined and told her that he was walking with me and she said that i should know my bloody way around the school by now." i scoffed, as hermione laughed. "you sure that maybe your just a little jealous of fred possibly fancying her?" she teased, as i rolled my eyes, laughing at the girl who joined me.

I smiled to myself, knowing that it wasn't true from the night of the party.

the four familiar laughs were heard, as we both turned our heads to see they were walking our way, laughing as they spotted us. fred leaned against the large tree with ron and harry at his side.

i shrugged off the comment, fiddling with the laces on my converse as fred skimmed a couple of rocks against the lake. i laid my head on hermiones lap, smiling up at her as she pulled at my cheeks teasingly.

A familiar blonde girl wandering through the forest, wearing a beautiful blue dress walked past us. "Hi luna!" i smiled, happily as the girl turned around. "Hi nova, how are you doing?" she asked, as i stood up to walk towards her.

"Im good, im feeling very tired today, how are you?" i replied sweetly, as she sighed whilst looking down at her feet covered in the leaves. "Im rather content, but i woke up to my shoes missing. it must be the nargles playing around again." she tutted, as i gave her a hug which she responded to quite quickly.

I don't understand why people bully luna, she has the sweetest soul ever and is too innocent for this world. "Well, i'd best be on my way. I hope to see you again soon!" she smiled, as i waved goodbye to her whilst walking back to my friends.

"Nova, what did Professor Lupin ask you the other day?" Harry asked curiously, once i had sat back down. "He was acting rather weird, asking me what types of talents in magic i had and then asked my about my parents." i shrugged, as he nodded.

After a while, we started to head back inside as it was getting colder and it looked like it was going to rain. I left to head to the owlery to send away my letter to my parents. i read it one last time, making sure it sounded right before i gave it to my owl, who immediately flew off with it in her mouth. smiling, i turned on my heel and down the steps.

i sighed quietly, admiring the breeze which blew my hair slightly. Soon enough i had snapped out of my gaze and left the owlery, walking down the steps to see ron sitting close to them. "whats up with you?" i asked, curiously as he looked up at me.

"nothing, it doesn't even matter." ron sighed, running a hand through his long hair as i furrowed my eyebrows. "come on, talk to me." i smiled lightly at him. "im just so fed up with people constantly referring me to harry's best friend, its like harry's my only reputation." ron frowned, as i shook my head.

"don't you ever say that ron, you are more than worth it! i promise you, don't be worrying about what other people have to say." i smiled, as he nodded. i pulled him into a hug, which he melted into. Shortly after, the two of us walked back to the gryffindor common room, laughing at eachothers jokes.
