Ross' POV;
I looked at her slightly confused "Ashleigh?". We stood there for what seemed like forever just staring at each other until we were heard a cough. We both looked in the direction of where it came from to see an older man stood next to her, which I assumed as her dad.
"Stormie, Mark it's great to see you again" He smiled and shook my parents hands while me and Ashleigh exchanged confused glances. "Ashleigh don't just stand there invite them in" Her dad said slightly nudging her to get her attention, she blinked before looking at the rest of my family and smiled. She opened the door more and moved aside. We all walked in and looked around, it was kind of surprising for people who only moved in today the house sure looked cosy.
My glance wandered to a small woman walking into the room with a smile on her face, she hugged my mom and dad. "Stormie, Mark thanks for coming" She said and she turned to the rest of us before continuing. "Wow they sure have grown up, haven't they" She said to my mom and she nodded in agreement, I looked at the rest of my siblings and they were smiling at her.
"I remember when you were all this big" She said and moved to her hand to wear her knee began, I was even more confused now. I didn't recognise who this woman was but Ashleigh seemed so familiar to me. Her mom suggested to Ashleigh that she should show us around, well it turned out to just be me since my siblings and parents decided to catch up.
We walked away from the group and decided to go outside, I looked around and saw she had a pool roughly the same size as ours. I walked beside and put my hands in my pockets as we walked around.
"So do you have any idea what they're talking about?" She asked me and I shook my head, shrugging.
"Not a clue but you wanna know what's strange?" I asked while looking at her, she looked at me and raised her eyebrows.
"What?" She asked curiously.
"You seem oddly familiar" I replied, scratching my neck slightly.
She gave me a look like she was thinking the same thing and oddly enough she was. "I was thinking that too, wait what's your last name?" She asked again.
"Lynch"
She gasped slightly and covered her mouth with her palm, I raised an eyebrow probably having a confused look plastered on my face.
"Don't you remember?" She asked but again I shook my head. She sighed before placing her hands on her hips.
"I'm Ashleigh Clark, we used to go the same dance studio back in Colorado" She explained, I thought about and it started to become more clearer but I still couldn't quite remember until she said it. "Smashin' Ash" My eyes widened as I looked at her, I haven't called her that in years. I smiled at the memory that lead to that nickname, I pulled her into a hug and she giggled as wrapped her arms around me.
"I can't believe it's you" I said when we finally pulled away from each other, she smiled up at me. "Me either". I looked at her for a while and remembered how she used to make me feel when we were younger, yeah I know we were kids but she was my first crush/best friend but before I could tell her how I felt we had to move. I was devastated I couldn't get her out of my head for months but I knew I had to move because I'd probably never see again but here we are.
We stood there for awhile just smiling at each other, I swear we both began to start leaning in when her mom called us.
"Ross, Ash dinner's ready" We quickly broke our gaze and Ashleigh looked at her mom.
"Ok mom, we're coming" Her mom walked back into the house and Ashleigh looked back up at me and smiled before gesturing for me to follow her.

Ashleigh's POV;
Dinner went really well, it was filled with laughter and a lot of talking mainly about the good old times back in Colorado. Through out the whole meal me and Ross would look at each other at the same time and smile which made the butterflies in my stomach to go crazy. After all this time who'd know that I would feel exactly the same way about him. I used to have a huge crush on him but I could never tell him that we were best friends but the day I finally built up the courage to finally tell, I found out he was moving so I couldn't.
About an hour and a half later the Lynch's announced that they were leaving, as I stood up to walk them to the door I felt someone grab my arm gently. I looked and saw that it was Ross.
"Can I talk to you for a minute?" He whispered and I nodded, following him out to the backyard. I closed the door behind us and turned to him.
"What's up?" I asked as I crossed my arms in an attempt to keep myself warm since it was quite a chilly night.
"Uh I was just wondering if-" He looked down at scratched the back of his neck, he looked slightly nervous about something. I put my hand on his arm and looked at him. "Ross?" He looked back at me and took a deep breath.
"If you wanted to go out sometime?" My eyes widened slightly and my eyebrows probably raised, it's something that happens when I'm shocked. I usually look like a deer in headlights but I controlled more so I didn't look scared of his question.
"Like a date?" I asked and he smiled slightly.
"Only if you want it to be" I bit my lip to contain my excitement that bubbling up inside me. I smiled sweetly at him before nodding my head.
"Yeah that would be great." His face brightened up and his jaw dropped slightly. I giggled at him before he closed it and smiled back.
"Great! I'll pick you up at 7 tomorrow night?" He asked and I nodded my head in response. "Cool, well I'll see you tomorrow then?"
"Yeah, see you then" I smiled at him once more before he did the unimaginable he leaned in and kissed my cheek lightly, I blushed when he pulled away.
"Goodnight." He whispered before walking inside the house. I turned to watch him walk away then touched my cheek where he kissed me and smiled to myself.
