Taehyung’s low voice echoed throughout the house, the sound of the front door closing and footsteps coming your way had both you and Jungkook rushing out of the living room and towards the bedrooms. You got to your bedroom and shut the door behind you, waiting patiently.
“I can’t believe hyung is here.” Jungkook muttered, his fingers running through his hair as you both stood by the door. “Is it bad that I want to see him?”
“No, but you know we can’t, it would be wrong.”
“I know.” he sighed, resting his hand on his hips, turning to the large windows along the walls. He glanced down at the drive way, getting a glimpse of what looked like a white car without wheels pulling out of the driveway.
“They left.”
~~~
It had been hours since you last saw Jae, but since you knew his was in good hands, you didn’t think too much of it.
The slight breeze outside tickled your exposed legs and arms, making you slightly shiver.
“Here.” your gaze drifted from the pool in front of you to Jungkook who handed you his hoodie.
“Thanks.” you mumbled, taking it from him and pulled it over your head, his smell and warmth of the hoodie engulfing you. You snuggled into it, humming in content.
Silence followed once again, the both of you sitting next to each other in comfort, like many other times before. You looked around at the large backyard, evident that it was well taken care of from the healthy colour of the green grass and cleanliness of the entire yard and pool.
You heard Jungkook let out a chuckle which was barely audible, if it hadn’t been dead silent between you.
“What?” you asked curiously, noticing the smile on his face as he stared off at the pool in front of you.
“Nothing.” he replied, trying to hide his grin.
“C’mon, tell me.”
He glanced at you then to the pool, letting out a sigh.
“It’s nothing really. I was just thinking about how it would be like to raise a child… with you.”
You could feel the heat rushing to your cheeks, trying to bite back a smile. For some reason it felt so pleasant to think of, it sounded so right.
"But of course there's a lot that will happen before that. Like getting into a relationship, having a stable job, getting engaged, preparing for the wedding, getting married, and deciding a honeymoon." he stared down at his hands as he counted "then there's deciding if we're ready to have a kid. And then, there's the process of making the baby too, which who knows how many tries it'll take—" Jungkook spoke faster near the end, noticing his mistake of sharing too much out loud.
Your own cheeks flushed from his previous words. Of course he wasn't wrong, but the thought of having sex with your best friend— it felt wrong to think about. Your mind flashed back to the moment in your large bedroom and the sight of his bare top half as he put on his shirt, and then to the moments of noticing his veiny arms that you had noticed in the past. Realizing where your thoughts were drifting, you shook your head to try and get those dirty thoughts out of your head. You shouldn't be sexualizing your best friend, no that was wrong, even if he was extremely hot, and if you were meant to get married. Could your cheeks get even redder at this point?
“Just forget everything that I said.” you could tell he felt embarrassed from the way he rubbed the nape of his neck as the atmosphere grew awkward. "I think I’m going to go to bed.” he muttered, standing up from his chair, avoiding eye contact as he turned to leave. You stood up, running after him, even though you didn’t even know why. It was as if your body was acting on its own, your heart making you go after him on its own accord.
