SHALINI'S POV
On Monday, Before heading to my laboratory, I stop to grab my usual at the canteen and Baseer was already gone back to Hyderabad, where Rahil is waiting for me with a smile. After our hellos, we are interrupted by a girl asking for intricate directions.
“How was your weekend?” Rahil asks.
“Amazing. I went to another party with my friend,” I tell him and he makes a sour face and laughs.“I’m sure yours was also better. How is Surbhi?” I asked.
His smile grows at the mention of her name and I realize that I didn’t mention seeing Baseer on Saturday.
Rahil tells me about Surbhi applying to a ballet company in New York and how happy he is for her.
“Won’t it be hard if Surbhi is gone so far?” I manage to ask as we started walking towards our department.
“Well, we are already far from each other now, but it works. I really just want the best for her, and if New York is it, that’s where I want her to be.” he said very convincingly.
WHEN I GET BACK TO MY LABORATORY, start to layout my books and notes to get ready to work,
but decide to call BASEER instead. He doesn’t pick up, and it really makes me wish he was here with me at university, I was already missing him. It would make things so much easier and comfortable. We could be studying or watching a movie together right now. Baseer is so sweet and he deserves every happiness in the world. I am so lucky to have him in my life. He’s always there for me and he knows me better than anyone. We have known each other basically our whole lives. When his parents moved in down the street, I was ecstatic to have someone my age to hang out with, and the feeling only grew. We spent our time reading, watching movies, and bringing life into the greenhouse behind my place.
Over the years, our friendship turned into more, and neither of us has ever dated anyone Instead of his few flings.
I text Baseer that I love him and decide to begin my studies. I pull out my planner and check my work one more time.
After spending a good time in the laboratory, now there was lunchtime and I decided to go towards the canteen to grab something to eat because I was starving.

She felt the same emotions as when she was locked in this same room earlier. But the difference was that time the door was locked from outside and this time, the door is locked from inside.
"Who is that FUCKER? " She said getting angry.
There was a shadow of somebody, but she was not able to figure out who was that. The shadow started moving towards her when the ray of light coming from the window fell upon it, the face of the person got cleared. And that was KABIR walking towards her.
