Shalini's POV

Once I feel clean enough, I shut off the shower and get out, drying myself off. I quickly pull on the clothes I picked out, and decide to try and make myself look halfway decent today, Of course, today is my first day at the university and I have to make a good impression on my guide.

I smile into the mirror and I have to admit I don't look that bad. I wouldn't say that I'm blessed in the looks department, but I'm not too bad. And combed my hair with my fingers and ran down the stairs of the hostel after picking all the stuff that I wanted for the university.

On reaching the university, I stand there, amazed, how huge this university is, mumbled to myself.

"Yeah... This university is huge". I immediately looked towards the coming sound and saw a pretty girl standing with some books in her hands and looking at me.

"Yess," I said with a confused look on my face.

She smiled and asked "you are new here" with so much softness that I never can have in my entire life that does not mean I'm rude or something but my personality is like that. Once a person starts knowing me she/he can easily understand my bluntness or whatever we can say.

"Yes," I answered with a slight smile on my face.

"Akshi," she said politely extended her hand. "Shalini here, "I said with equal politeness and took her hand to shake.

" You are also new here," I asked her because the new batch is also going to start today of 1st semester "No.. I'm pursuing my masters here and I'm in the 3rd semester right now and my department is environmental science," she said. "And you," she asked and we both started walking towards the building.

"On that, the same pinch because my department is also environmental Science but I would be your senior because I'm a scholar here and I will be working under my guide, Dr Richa Kothari". I said teasing her and we both started laughing.

"Ok ma'am," she said bowing down in front of me.
" Plz don't do that, I was just joking, "I said while laughing.

" By the way, Richa ma'am is amazing and very helpful. You should be proud that you are going to be working under her" she said while stopping in front of her classroom. And I give her a little smile.

"Nice to meet you Shalini. But I have to go. My class  is going to start and I'll meet you later". She said with a smile. "Same here," I said and after exchanging our mobile numbers we headed toward our respective destination in the department.

After meeting my guide and laboratory assistant which I'm glad for now were nice to me. My guide also told me that she is happy that a student like me will work under her, which made my day.

It was lunchtime so went canteen and saw Akshi there who was sitting at a table with some other students, who may be her classmates. Our eyes met and we waved our hands to each other as a gesture of HI.

I started having my lunch alone. And I swear I miss Baseer so much right now that I called him. After few rings, he picked up the call.

"Hye my aaloo" with so much enthusiasm that I rolled her eyes. And also whined at he called me "aaloo".

"Hye Bassi, how are you doing," I asked him.

Baseer- I'm doing good and packing.

Me-why

B-oye... Short term memory loss. He started laughing. I have to go to Hyderabad. Remember.

Me- I haven't forgotten anything. You were supposed to go next month.
