"Do you plan sitting in the office all night?"
Yes, Saphira planned to do that. That was her job. She would only go for a walk to stretch her legs, but she really did not want to. She was nervous about running into one of the animatronics in the pizzaplex, and especially that daycare attendant. Clowns were not a favorite of hers, and having one in the facility was not great. The only one who did not seem like he will bother her was Music Man. She did manage to find him after scrolling through the cameras, and he was sleeping on the stage. And he was massive! He was like a giant spider with hands at the end of the limbs, his face had a huge smile with piano teeth and behind the teeth looked like a screen that appeared to be constantly scrolling. And his eyes were big, round and dark, luckily he would stay there and Saphira was well and truly okay with that.
"Is there anything else I am supposed to do Freddy?" Saphira asked, stretching her arms back with a deep sigh. "I'm not exactly thrilled about walking around this place yet, so I am taking it slow." She glanced at the time, it was nearly three in the morning and the technicians would be leaving soon. She was starting to feel tired and stood up to get a coffee from the machine. "I am not bored or anything."
"I guess I was just curious. Night guards are meant to walk through the building...but I understand your reasoning Saphira. Maybe..." He paused for a moment to think, Freddy wanted to try and help Saphira ease into the facility in anyway he could. "I don't know if it'll work actually."
"Well, spill it out Freddy," Saphira said, glancing at her watch to make sure it was still connected to Freddy. "You won't know my answer until you ask me the question." She sniffed loudly as the warm aroma of coffee filled the air. "Mmm...my last pick-me-up for the night."
"I suppose you are referring to coffee right? I am aware humans drink that to make themselves more awake. I am not sure how or why it does that, but I will never have the pleasure of smelling or tasting it." Saphira did not know if that was true since Chica eats garbage, but she decided not to comment on it. "As for my idea...maybe I could walk with you. This place is easy to get lost in if you do not know you way."
"Uhhhh...what? You want to walk with me?" Saphira shakes her head and picked up her cup as the coffee machine finished filling it and placed the cap on it. "That probably would be a bad idea right now." She sipped her coffee and sat back down. "Perhaps when I feel more comfortable...but I can't really promise when that would happen."
"That is what I thought. But I am glad you will consider it when you are not as fearful of us like you are now. Heh!" She raised an eyebrow when he laughed suddenly. It sounded like he had another idea, and she was curious. "Maybe you should pick out one of the plushies of each of us, would that help?"
Saphira could not help but burst into fits of laughter. She appreciated his efforts in trying to help her ease her fear, but a plush toy was not going to cut it. It was a nice idea, it probably works with kids in a way, but she was definitely not a kid. She was a young woman. Freddy said nothing and he might be happy he managed to make her laugh.
"Oh Freddy...I am sorry for laughing. But...I am afraid that will not work." She glanced at the cameras when she noticed movement from one of the staff rooms near Parts and Service. The technicians had changed out of their lab coats into casual clothing. "Oh! Looks like the technicians are about to head out. Cliff said he would let me know."
"Oh yeah, it is three am right now, their schedules finish right now. I will talk to you after they leave, they like to come by Rockstar Row to say their farewell. It's kind of a tradition here for them." He chuckled slightly before the connection cuts off.
Saphira was a little envious that the technicians were able to go to the animatronics and speak with them like they were normal people. But at the same time, she still did not understand why they were treated as such. She had been explained a lot about their complex AI system, but she still could not wrap her head around the fact they were robots and were capable of thinking like a human. She sipped from her cup again, she looked at the cameras in Rockstar Row to see the technicians going into the rooms to farewell the animatronics. She hummed and wondered when she would have the confidence to do that. When her shift ends at six, she did not know if she would even do that.
