"Hey, Mittens! What's this?" Edric teased, hopping down the stairs of Blight Manor. Amity glanced up at him in annoyance. She'd only just arrived home from school, and she didn't want to deal with her brother's jokes right now.

Edric waved a piece of paper in front of her and grinned as her face flushed. "Were you messing with my stuff again? I told you to stop doing that!" Amity yelled ripping the piece of paper out of his hand. "It's you and that cute little human! How adorable!" He gushed. 

Amity stuffed the drawing of her and Luz into her school bag and rolled her eyes. "Why don't you go find someone to date instead harassing me about my girlfriend!?" She hissed and began making her way upstairs to her room. 

Edric chuckled, and his face twisted as he started to fake sob dramatically. "You got me, Mittens! If only someone loved me!" "What the heck are you guys yelling about down here?" Emira asked as she appeared at the top of the stairs in front of Amity. 

"Mittens drew some cute fan art of her and her girlfriend and I saw it on her desk. Now she's attacking me!" Edric exclaimed and, as if he were performing, covered his face with his hands. "Really? Let me see." Amity sighed and showed her sister the picture. 

"Can I go now?" "You're right, bro! This is so ADORABLE!" Emira grinned, looking down at the drawing in her sister's hands. Amity shoved past them both and went to her room. "Why do they have to be so annoying?" She sighed, glancing at the picture and smiling to herself.

"Really?" Luz's face lit up like the sun, "You drew us? Can I see?" Amity blushed and handed her the drawing. The human smiled and her cheerful laugh filled the air. "Your siblings were right! This is adorable!" Luz complimented as she gazed at the drawing of her and Amity. 

"Okay, now I regret telling you." Amity sighed and took the picture back. "It's not even that good. Just a little sketch." Luz gasped, "How dare you? This is a beautiful portrait?" Amity rolled her eyes and playfully nudged her girlfriend. 

"Of course you'd say that. We're in the picture together."

 "Well, you're a pretty good drawer, Mittens." Luz said with a smirk, and pulled Amity into a hug. Her girlfriend blushed and tightly hugged her back, almost knocking her school bag off of the bench they were sitting on. 

Suddenly, the school bell screamed and the two broke apart and grabbed their bags and empty school lunches. Laughing the girls ran, hand in hand, back to Hexside for their next classes. They'd decided to have lunch together in the courtyard, like a date. 

When they reached Amity's class, Luz gave her a swift kiss on the cheek and let go of her hand. "Have fun, Mittens!" Amity smiled and waved after Luz, who was now speed walking to her next class. 

She'd never really liked the nickname, but hearing it out of her girlfriend's mouth kept her smiling through all of her classes.
