Nessa
We were about 20 minutes from campus and the ride back had been filled with small talk and music.
"You have horrible taste in music" Levi says turning the volume down.
"What!? No I don't. Everybody loves my taste in music." I say in defence.
"They're all sad love songs."
"That's why everybody loves them." He quirks an eyebrow at me and I just shrug.
"It's true. Everybody loves sad love songs." I turn up the song that I'm playing it was constellations by Jade LeMac.
I start singing along joking around and he keeps flicking his eyes to mine. I yell the lyrics in the worst voice I can.
The song finishes and we're both full on laughing.
"I mean if all love songs were sung like that I'd definitely listen to them." Levi teases.
"Shut up." I say my cheeks hurting from laughing so much.
I run my hands over the leather seats of his truck. It was nice. And I'm sure extremely expensive considering it's was a Dodge Ram. The exterior was black and so was the interior.
"I like your truck." I randomly blurt out.
His lips quirk, "I like it to."
"Not to be nosy or anything but how's you afford this? I mean your a junior in college."
"I was fortunate enough that my grandparents are rich as fuck. I'm the only grandson so they spoiled me for my 18th birthday." He's smiling at the memory.
I smile for him. "Aw that's so kind of them. I've never met my dads parents and my mums father passed away a few years ago. Her mother dies when she was young."
I fiddle with my finger nails as we continue to talk back and forth.
By the time we pull up to my apartment it's a little after two in the afternoon. I jump out of his truck. Like literally, I have to jump it's that big and I'm average height.
"You good?" Levi asks as he come around to my side.
I brush some of my hair off my face, "sure am." We stand there awkwardly for a second before I say, "well thanks for coming today. I guess I'll see you around."
"Yeah, no problem. I had fun. Well besides you know..." he trails off clearly talking about my family.
I give him a soft smile and pat his arm as I go to walk past. "I had fun too."
"Wait!" he calls and then walks up next to me, "I'll walk you to your door. That's what any boyfriend would do right?"
I laugh and nod, "I guess so but you don't have to."
"It's fine. Besides I want to." He says nonchalantly and them starts walking into the building.
We make it to my door and I unlock it. Before opening I turn to Levi to thank him again, "I really appreciate you coming today."
For the second time today he reaches over and ticks a price of my hair behind my ear. And for the thousandth time that day I felt a blush rise to my cheeks.
"Your cute when you blush." Oh my god kill me now. I feel my cheeks get redder at his statement.
He smirks at me and them we're both just staring at one another. This almost reminds when of the almost kiss at the part the other week. Except this time I'm aware of the crush I have on him.
I clear my throat and then look away. After a few beats I look back up and see Levi is still staring at me with a look I don't recognise.
His gaze flicks to my lips and back to my eyes before again resting on my lips. I suck in a breath and do the same.
