It was a warm day in Thetford, Vermont, a 20 year old woman named Alen had just got out of a job interview for a local daycare. She loved kids and hoped to get a job there. She works at a Walmart that's about a 15 minute walk from where she lived. As the skies darkened a beautiful fire red sunset emerged from the dark grey clouds, she just had to take a picture.
As she was walking home the wind began howling. Alen put on her grey and pink turtleneck sweater, cleverly designed with firework patterns with the pinks and grays.
"It sure got cold out here" Said Alen. The warm summer air quickly changed. It went from 75° to 58° fast. She pulled out her phone and Bluetooth headphones and put on some music. "This is home" by Cavetown started playing. It started playing to loud to hear the person stalking her from behind.
She felt a tap on her shoulder followed by a raspy voice that said "Watcha doing walk'n alone young lady?" Alen was visibly uncomfortable. The man reached into his pocket and pulled out a knife with some unknown chemicals spread along it. Alen tried to run but the man grabbed her stopping her from running, she tried to call the police but it didn't work. The man stabbed her with the knife and killed her. Her body was dumped into the Connecticut river.
The chemicals from the knife went into her bloodstream making it contaminated with the unknown chemicals. Slowly the body got carried out to the Atlantic Ocean by the river and went into the ocean. The chemicals that were still remaining contaminated the waters by America and Europe. America noticed people being deadly sick with an unknown virus, this virus caused people to become very cold and fierce.
Along the rocky coast lines of Portugal some explorers found a beaten up body. They immediately called the police and they got the body out of the beach. Something seemed off about the whole situation though they thought. They got scientists to run tests on the body, or what remained of it. The pink and grey sweater was torn to shreds, only a few pieces remained.
The scientists found out that the body was infected with some unknown virus. They were concerned for the fish that got caught and eaten, what if they were infected with this virus and it transferred to the people?
Meanwhile in America people found out how to contain and control the virus, blocking any possibly infected water and killing anyone who is infected. Europes waters were heavily contaminated with the virus. The symptoms of the virus caused it to be called the ice virus, people infected with ice will experience severe pains in there head, stomach ,and back. European countries slowly got more and more cases of ice. Due to their large fishing industry, people who live along the coast ate mainly fish and other marine animals like lobster or shrimp.
In Massachusetts a group of some middle school students were gossiping about the virus.
"Yo did you hear about that crazy virus going around?"
"Obviously, the whole world must have heard about it by now!"
"I wonder if it'll ever get over here.."
The three students were skipping out on school when they heard about it.
"Eh it's nothing to worry about." Said one of the three. "The government might be smart enough to stop it." A voice interrupted with laughing.
"Really, the government is going to stop the zombie apocalypse?" Said the voice sarcastically. "Have you seen zombie movies!"
"This isn't a movie, Salem."
"Really Førd? Name one time humanity has successfully stopped a virus."
