Chapter 38

**Claudia's POV***

I woke up feeling worse than usual. My body felt so stiff I didn't think I could move. My head felt as if there were a parade of elephants marching around inside it. In other words, it hurt. So badly.

"Harry?" I called my BOYFRIEND, my voice sounding weak and pathetic

He sat up slowly, "What's up babe?"

"My head hurts," I whined.

"I thought you said your concussion was going away? Did you hit your head again?"

I though for a moment, "Maybe in my sleep. I'm such a heavy sleeper, I wouldn't have noticed."

"You roll around a lot, so I wouldn't be surprised. I'll wake up sometimes because you'll be kicking me, just randomly, and then you'll stop and look all peaceful again."

I hid my face in my hands, "Oops...Sorry."

He hugged me, "It's okay babe. Do you want me to see if there's a bump on your head where it hurts?"

I nodded and he started to look through my hair, occasionally pulling out a leaf or twig like a monkey.

"Oh, uh, wow," Harry said, "There's a huge bump on the left side of your head.

I brought my my hand to where his was and felt a bump about the size of a marble, "EW! That's disgusting!"

"That's probably why you have a headache.."

"I'm going back to sleep. Wake me up when Search and Rescue gets here," I laughed dryly, closing my eyes.

***Harry's POV***

I sat there next to Claud, who was sleeping peacefully and looked adorable. I was really worried. I didn't know how much longer we could last like this. We had ran out of food two days ago. Both sets of clothing we each had were soiled and mostly destroyed. Claud was definitely not okay. We weren't meant for a life like this. We needed to get out of here and fast, too.

As if answering my prayers, I heard the sound of a helicopter.

"CLAUDIA! WAKE UP!" I screamed, "SEARCH AND RESCUE'S HERE!"

She groggily opened her eyes, "Huh?"

"You stay here, I'll go flag them down!" I got so excited I manage to ignore the awful pain in my ankle. I stumbled towards the beach, running into trees but not caring. I waved my arms in the air like a maniac, screaming anything and everything at the top of my lungs.

"You have been spotted," A voice from a megaphone said, "Emergency crews will be there shortly. Stay where you are." The helicopter flew off.

Stay here? Ha, not without Claud. I stumbled back to get her. I found her peacefully asleep. I quickly laid her outside of the cave and started tossing stuff in the bags. Holding the bags over my shoulder, I picked up Claud and did a sort of fireman's carry with her. I limped back and set the stuff on the ground, and sat down, holding her bridal style.

"Claud!" I said, shaking her delicately.

"Mm?" She opened one eye.

"We're being rescued! They're coming to take us home!"

"Yay," She said, before falling asleep again.

I sighed, and waited to be rescued.
