"Mr. Nakamoto." The doctor said, stepping into the waiting room. Yuta stood up quickly, following the doctors request to follow him.

"So, I have a few questions." The doctor said.

"Let's hope I have the answers." Yuta responded.

"Has she had a similar experience before?" The doctor asked.

"Yes, but it was much worse. I'm worried that she'll go back to how she was. She stop talking completely. We finally got her out of that shell." Yuta said.

"Well, we can confirm that it does seem more of a minor injury all together, but as you said before, she isn't talking to us. What have you guys done for this?" The doctor asked.

"A notepad and a pencil. We've been communicating like this for eight years now." Yuta explained.

"Well, would you like to come see her, she's awake now. But only one person at a time." The doctor said.

"Alright." Yuta said as he followed the doctor to his sister's room.

"Hey, Kemi." Yuta said, standing beside her bed.

"I'm sorry, I should've known something like this would have happened. It just felt too fake to happen. Then again, we live in a house of twenty people, all runaways." Yuta laughed, but Kemi didn't move.

"You don't have to go back. You can stay home if you'd like. We can have Jaemin and Jeno visit too, so you can see them too." Yuta said, trying anything to get a reaction out of her.

"Kemi, please, just something. I finally got to hear your voice again. We've made so much progress." Yuta said sadly.

"I'm sure the boys would like to see you before I send them home." Yuta said, gently ruffling the girls hair.

°°°

"Hey, Kemi." The boy said.

"Yuta told me you weren't responding to him, and the rest said the same." He said quietly.

"But you know what? No matter how little or how much or talk and communicate, you'll always be the same Kemi I've known." He said.

"The same girl I've grown to like so much. The girl I've grown so used too. Everyday, for the past month, constantly seeing you around."

"But know, Kemi, I'll be here for you, for as long as you want. When you decide that I'm the last person you want to ever see, just know that I'll wait. Just like when we met when we were nine." He said.

"But please, be okay." He said softly, putting a hand over hers.

He almost thought he imagined it, her hand gently weaving through his. But he looked down at their hands, the reality of it making a smile appear on his face.

He looked up at the girl, but her expression stayed the same: emotionless. Stoic.

"I'm sure Yuta would like to see you again. I'll go get him." Jaemin said, removing his hand from hers. To his surprise, she begun to write on the notepad in front of her.

Don't go

Jaemin read it and sent the girl a soft smile, pulling the chair over towards the bed.

"Alright." Jaemin said as he thought about the different things to talk about.

"So, I have a question." Jaemin said hesitantly.

Ask away.

Jaemin chuckled lightly before taking a breath.

"Would you like to go see a movie after you get discharged?" Jaemin asked. Kemi began writing again.

I'd say yes, but you'll have to talk to Yuta and Mark. If Renjun was here, he wouldn't be able to know or he'd find some way to keep me at home or he'd ruin the movie.

Jaemin laughed as he read it.

"Yeah. That does sound like something Renjun would do."

But I'd love to

Kemi smiled at the boy, happy for having him around.

I can't wait to leave

"Me either." Jaemin laughed, intertwining their hands again.

I'm pretty sure that I'm fine
I just panicked? I think? It's just very familiar, but after I passed out the first time, they left. After that, it was only a few minutes before you guys came into the bathroom. Thank you, by the way.

Kemi put the pencil down, and looked over at the boy who read through her message.

"I was worried, too, when Yuta said that you hadn't made it to him yet. But, do you know who did it?" Jaemin asked.

Minra and Sorin

"I'm not even surprised." Jaemin muttered.

Can I be honest?

"Go ahead, I'm listening...well reading." Jaemin said, with a short-lived laugh.

I'm scared.

Jaemin turned to the girl.

"It's alright that you're scared. It's completely understandable. But know, you have your brother, and the rest of the boys. You have me, too. And we will always be by your side. And if tou ever feel unsafe, you'll have my number. You can message at anytime, for anything. I don't care if it's two in the morning or two in the afternoon." Jaemin said softly, gently rubbing his thimb across the back of her hand.

Thank you, Jaemin

"No need to thank me. Silly girl." Jaemin said, messing with her hair.

They proceeded to converse, Kemi writing while Jaemin spoke, for several minutes before her brother came inside the room.

"I see how it is, you'll talk to your boyfriend but not your brother." Yuta teased.

He's not my boyfriend...yet

Kemi kept the paper away from Jaemin, and Yuta laughed as he read it.

"Well, I'll leave you guys to talk." Jaemin said, gently releasing Kemi's hand.

"Bye, Jaemin." Yuta said as Kemi waved.

°°°

"So, does this mean someone has a date?" Yuta laughed as he looked at Kemi's responses to Jaemin.

"I'm kidding. But yeah, you guys can go. And no, you don't need Mark's permission. But the part about Renjun- isn't that the truth."  Yuta said, looking up at his sister.

"I like Jaemin. I trust him around you. Also, I'm a hundred percent sure that he likes you, too. You'll surprise Renjun, dating Jaemin, though." Yuta said after a few seconds.
