Silent Letter

Prologue

"In my restless dreams, I see that town, Sentryville. You promised to take us there again someday. But you never did. Well, I'm alone there now, in our special place, waiting for you.

What you just listened to was a letter from someone named... Sophie, an urban legend of sorts. This morning, my family and I got a letter. The envelope had her name on it. Soon, my friends got similar letters. And just like ours, all of the envelopes have that name, "Sophie". We don't know who she is, but then, we learned that Sophie was once a normal person, who had died many years ago when she was on a honeymoon vacation with her husband, but legend has it that her spirit still haunts this town that she's in, Sentryville. Apparently, it used to be a rather peaceful town in New England, but then, a mining accident forced everyone to evacuate. Rumor has it that strange figures have been spotted in that town, roaming around, fighting each other, behaving like zombies, like the ones you see in the movies, or on TV. But we still headed over, practically risking our lives, knowing that these... things could kill us. Why we're out here looking for her is beyond us. What did she mean by "special place"? We then learned that there was a "special place" in Sentryville that she loved, but no one knows what it is exactly. Some say that it's a park on a lake, because they spent an entire day there, staring at the water. Either way, curiosity got the better of us. And we went there, all eight of us. No tools, no adults, and no magic. Just us. We're not here to fight or anything, we're just there to find Sophie, and get the answers we seek.
