Chapter 7

ELAINE'S P.O.V

I was resting on the couch with the TV on. I wasn't really paying attention on the movie. I was thinking bout what Zayn told me earlier. I just can't believe that he would fall in love with me. I never expected that. I know I hurt him by telling the truth but I would hurt him even more if I pretended that I also like him. Yes I love him. But not more than friends. I love him as my best friend. My thoughts went away when I heard a knock on my door. I stood up and opened it.

"Liam, what are you doing here?" I asked in shock. He looked at me looking a little bit angry. "What are you doing Elaine? You were out the whole day with Zayn!" He exclaimed. I wasn't able to talk. Why is he acting like this? It's weird. "You were going out with him! Is he going to be your next victim? You are going to hurt him too, aren't you?! Find someone, not my friend!" He exclaimed. "What? Is that what you think of me Liam? I replied back in a calm manner. "He is my best friend Lee. My best friend! I wouldn't be able to do that to him!" He let out a sarcastic laugh. "You can't hurt him? WOW!!" He muttered. I nodded. "But why did you left me?" He added, hurt visible in his eyes. "It was for your own good Lee." I uttered. "It was for my own good?? How come it was for my own good when you left me bleeding?" He replied. "You want to know the reason why I left you Liam?" I asked controlling my tears to come out. "Of course I do. I deserved that Elaine!" He said in a high pitched voice. I took a deep breath.

"You---you remember when your company screwed up?" I asked him looking at the floor. "Yes! It was near bankruptcy but it was able to cope up. Why? What's the point El??" He replied back. I don't know how to be able to say this to him. "My---my dad was to be ble--blame for that." I took a deep breath. He just stared at me puzzled. "In the first place Lee, he already disapproves of our relationship. He told me that....that he will do everything he can to separate us. When I didn't listen to him, he did something bad. He didn't got back at you....it was your company. And...and the only way to solve it is...if I will go with them, all those things will be over." A tiny tear fell down my cheek. I wiped it right away. "I do---don't want it to be worse so I decided to go with them even if living without you was like living in the dark." My tears just kept falling. "He to---told me that I wo--wouldn't have to dare ca--call or even text you. I felt so helpless that time Liam! The---the o---only thing on my mind was to protect you.. I just made a choice Liam.. I am so so---sorry!" I said sobbing. 

After saying that, the anger in his eyes was replaced with concern. He came towards me and wiped my tears away. "I'm sorry Elaine. I'm sorry!" He pulled me into a hug. My tears just went flowing and flowing. "Sshh..Stop crying now El" He whispered while rubbing my back. "I don't wa---want you to ge---get a--angry at my dad so I didn't te--tell yo---you Lee!" I cried. He was still holding me on his arms. "What's important is you are here now Elaine." He replied back. I wanted to tell him I still love him so badly. That a day didn't pass without me thinking about him. "I still love you Liam!" Those words just slipped off my tongue. He didn't answer back. I know it was complicated. He already have a girlfriend now. He had already moved on. Me? I was still in the phase hoping that we would still be together.
