Chapter 26

LIAM'S P.O.V

Months had passed. Elaine was getting thinner and thinner. She had lost her appetite and just eating a little. Her collar bones are more prominent now. She is also weaker now than before. I always carry her, bridal style whenever we go down for breakfast and go to sleep at night. I notice the sudden weight change every time. She is even paler now but she is still beautiful to me.

After the wedding, I moved in with her to take good care of her. I always makes breakfast for her, helps her during bath time. I am simply enjoying our last moments together. We always watch movies at night while having popcorn and ChocoLocoMocho. Despite the fact that she is very ill now, she is still the happy Elaine. She never blamed God for her situation.

"Babe, I'll just use the bathroom." I muttered. She nodded and smiled at me. I left her on the dining room. After comforting myself, I heard a loud sound like a glass breaking. I quickly ran to see how she was doing. 

She was now sitting on the floor, banging her head on the wall. "Ahhh!!" She screamed. "It hu---hurts so much! It hurts l---like hell Lee! I can't ta---take it anym---more!" She shouted. I hugged her and stopped her from banging her head. "Stop now El.. Don't hurt yourself!" I carried her and brought her to our room. After she took her medication, she is calmer now and the pain subsided a bit.

"Liam, thank you for taking care of me. I'm sorry I became like this. I should be the one taking care of you." She said while we were lying down on bed. "I know you are getting tired of me." She added.

"I won't get tired of you Elaine. I love you so much." I replied back as I brushed her hair with my hand. "What can I do to make you feel better?" I asked. "Just stay with me till I die Lee." She replied back looking at me. She smiled and a tear fell down her cheek. I wiped it away.

"But if you are already tired, you c---can go now El. You can have your rest. I'm le---letting you g--go." I stammered wiping my tears. "I won't leave you without saying goodbye Liam. I love you more than words can say." She exclaimed kissing me on the lips.

I fell asleep that night holding her in my arms.
