————————————————————————————Third POV:
Zenitsu and Inosuke were struggling to breath. They gasped and choked for air, the Obi slowly tightening with the wielder howling with laughter.
Beside them was a unconscious Tanjiro, who's face was scrunched up with droplets of sweat forming on his forehead.
Mitsuri, Uppermoon 1, held her parasol gracefully in her hands as she looked down at the Sound Pillar. She crouched down to his level and lifted up his chin. The Sound Pillar coughed uncontrollably as he made eye contact with Uppermoon 1. He grimaced at the sight of the ex-Love Pillar. "Why.. did you join.. the-" He was cut off with a hard slap to his face.
"Why? Did I not make it clear enough to Obanai? To everyone? DID I NOT." Mitsuri glared down at Uzui as she stood up. Uzui glanced up and was met with a horrifying smirk."Oi, Mitsuri, don't kill him. Bring him and the slayers back to the others, this way the others can torture to death." Uppermoon 6 spoke with smug in her voice. Mitsuri huffed and pointed her parasol at the pillar, thin strings flew out and wrapped around the well-built body.
The strings cut into Uzui's exposed skin and drew blood. He winced and coughed, blood spitting out.Even with Uzui's resistance to almost every poison made ever, Mitsuri's poison did a great affect on him. He felt as if his heart was wrapped in rope. He could barely feel his legs and arms, he winced at the pain and collapsed to the ground, blades falling alongside him.
Mitsuri smirked and went to get Tanjiro in her casual gracefulness. Daki was still howling with laughter as she watched the two slayers struggle to breath. Mitsuri carried Tanjiro bridal style, and caressed his cheek softly. She hummed a tune she used to sing when she was still a mortal.
She sat on the edge of the roof with Tanjiro lying in her lap peacefully. She swung her legs back and forth as Daki did the clean-up.
"Why must I bring the idiotic slayers back huh?" Mitsuri rolled her eyes and pointed out the obvious. Daki huffed and jumped to the next roof with the slayers wrapped in her Obi. Mitsuri stood and followed Daki back to the infinity fortress.
Douma's POV:
I woke up feeling sore. I groaned and sat up, looking at my surroundings. I did not remember what had happened, but I did know I slept for a good while. Maybe just like a mortal.I remembered Kokushibu yelling in my face, before storming off. I gave myself a small smile before laying back down on the bed. I chuckled at my stupid actions, before laughing with absolutely madness.
Yet, I felt nothing.
I clutched my stomach due to me howling with laughter a few moments before. My sharp nails dug into my skin and drew blood. I pressed my nails even deeper into my skin and watched in amusement as blood stained the bed and blood dripped.
My fingers were in my whole stomach by now, I did not know what had gotten into me as I lifted my hand up, blood immediately spurted out and splattered all over my face. I stretched my fingers and bend them in various positions. The cracks they made were so mesmerising to hear!
I glanced at the door and found multiple locks on it. I was confused and stared at the many locks on my door before remembering that Kokushibu had placed locks on my door before leaving. That must have explained the clinking sound of metal before he left.
My fingers began to regenerate slowly and I frowned. It felt weird that you are able to hurt yourself and yet it regenerates right back.
I hummed a soft tune. It was from Kotoha. She was a nice lady, with her son. They were taken in by me and I had no plans on eating her till Kotoha found me eating some women from the cult. I sigh and stared at the ceiling.
How does it feel to feel different emotions?
That is the question I ask myself everyday. Even though I was in a relationship with Akaza-dono, Kokushibu and Tanjiro, I did not feel love.
I got up from the blood-stained bed and walked towards the bathroom. I washed up and changed my clothes. The salty smell of blood still lingered and I scrunched my nose in disgust.
I stared at the locks that were placed on my door. With one swift movement, the locks fell to the ground with a thud. I stepped out and no one was in sight.
I walked to Kokushibu's room, hoping to apologise. But when I peeked my head in, Akaza-dono was cuddling Kokushibu. My heart somehow felt this aching pain and before I knew it, tears streamed down my face. I quickly wiped it and picked up my pace.
So, Akaza and Koku made up. What about me? Why is it always me that's left out? Why is it me that I had to be hated on? Surely the others still like me right?
Wrong.
I thought wrong. The others absolutely hated me. When they saw me approach the dining area, they glared at me with disgust. They told me to burn myself for what I did to Koku and Tanjiro-San.
I simply nodded with a small smile and practically ran away. Tears streamed down my face as I jumped down to the entrance of the infinity fortress. I felt something form in my heart.
It felt like, hatred and sadness. Once I reached the entrance, the door burst opened with Daki and Mitsuri. Mitsuri was carrying Tanjiro on her back while Daki had 3 slayers trapped in her Obi.
My eyes darted away from them and I nudged past them. If no one in the fortress cares, I doubt they will care.
I didn't know where I was going. My legs were bringing me to a unknown area. Even though I lived for more than 3000+ years, this part of the forest was different.
There was bushes filled with berries, trees that swayed along with the wind, animals scurried about. It was calming here. The gentle breeze of the wind made the atmosphere chilly. I didn't mind.
As long as it gave me peace.
I sat down on the grass and stared at the sky. The night sky was.. beautiful. I never really noticed how many stars were in the sky. Probably I was too busy finding my meals.
Now that I think back, Akaza and Kokushibu had always left me out. They had their moments together, acting like a married couple while I stood there, clapping. And I was supposed to be part of the relationship?
More like a third wheel. I scoffed and laid back into the cool grass. The dark sky soon filled with specks of orange and yellow.
My eyes widened and I looked around for shelter. I needed to shield myself from the sun. As I did, I recalled the moments when everyone insulted me. I always thought they meant it as a joke.
It seemed so real to me now. I sighed and hid under a tree. It had many layers of leaves so I should be alright. I cant make it back to the fortress anyways. Im probably not allowed there!
I leaned against the tree and stared into space. I felt a tear roll down my cheeks. My face showed no expression. There was no feelings beyond those rainbow eyes of mine.
