Chapter 10: Nothing's wrong...

"Angel... Wake up sweetie..." I gently kissed her cheeks holding her cold body against mine.

We were now at a highway stop point. It wasn't the best place I agree but my angel needs to eat something now.

She slowly opened those beautiful almond shaped eyes and for a minute she was in a daze. I was scared if she was still in pain, so I was making sure she didn't have to support herself and I was holding her hardly noticeable weight.

"Um... What time is it?" she rubbed her eyes and trying to pin up her messy hair.

"It's 4:30 in the evening sweetheart..." I breathed into her neck making her shudder in pleasure.

"Sean not now... I'm just tired to do anything..." she was weak I could see it. I wasn't going to do anything, just wanted her to feel my warmth.

"Sweetheart I know... We're here at some small highway hotel... You can refresh yourself and we could get something to eat..."

She nodded silently and tried to get up. I hold on to her hands as she slowly moves herself off me.

"Uh..." she tries to hide that she was a little uneven on her footing but I never miss a thing.

"I'll carry you..." I moved my hands down but she stopped me.

"No Sean, I need to get used to it... Just hold on to me and I'll be fine..."

I hold her close to me as we walk into the hotel, the men turned to stare at my angel. But I held her even closer and I guess they got the idea. They went back to business.

Leona POV

My whole body felt weak and lifeless for some reason. Guess having no food has made my state worse. I hold on to Sean for my dear life as we walk into the hotel.

I could immediately feel at least a dozen pair of eyes scan my small figure. I shifted a bit in Sean's grip and I guess he understood. He sent a glare at them all, getting the message across that I belonged to him.

We made our way to a table at the corner. I stopped, I needed to pee.

"Sean..." I leaned against his chest.

"Yes Angel..." he smiled.

"I need to use the loo..." I murmured.

"Ok sweetheart you want me to come with you..."

"No... I'll be fine..." I try to stand on my own and my head felt a little heavy. I wavered a bit but I was fine.

"You sure angel," he asked, his eyes filled with concern.

"Yeah..."

I slowly walked to the women loo on the other end of the hotel.

It was pretty decent I guess. Not as bad as I expected. There was a mirror and a couple of cubicles opposite it.

I finished my business and walked out of the cubicle. I looked at myself in the mirror.

Who is that?

I saw a mere skeleton in the reflection, a mere presence of what I used to be. There were stray strands of hair poking out and my cheeks stuck to my bones awkwardly. My whole being looked hollow and dry. I hugged myself and felt tears rolling down my face.

God, no wonder Sean turned away from me. After seeing this, me in this state, he must've felt disgusted that he was stuck with me.

But then why did he put up that act back there, calling me his angel, sweetie and all that? Why lie to me that I was beautiful?

I washed my face and put my hair in a messy braid. I made sure I looked presentable, if I looked sick, fine. At least I would look less sick.

I walked back to the table and I saw that he had ordered a tea for himself and another chocolate milkshake, probably for me. I love chocolate milkshake.

"There you are... Was wondering what happened sweetheart..." he winked in a naughty way that made think I was wrong to assume the stuff I was thinking about just a few minutes ago.

Or were you? Somewhere a voice murmured inside me. Were you wrong to think that stuff?

"What're you thinking sweetie?"

"Just about where you're taking me..." I lie, trying to avoid speaking about the doubts I had in mind. His face dropped.

"Leo... What's wrong?" he asked in a sad tone.

He knows I'm lying.

"Nothing sweetie... Just... I'm just tired..."

"Ok... " And he turned abruptly away.

Guess I just made things worse.
