Last year for Valentine's Day, they had combined their anniversary gifts within the Valentine's Day gift. This year, since they combined their Christmas gifts with anniversary gifts, Regulus figured he'd have to get a Valentine's Day gift.
And although trying not to die was first priority, Regulus managed to scrounge something up.
Well two somethings.
James would get his gift when they went out on their double date with Remus and Sirius, but he would get his gift when they were finally alone.
The thing about James- that irked Regulus so much- was that he was so easy to please when it came to Regulus.
Regulus hated it because he really wanted everything to be better than perfect.
It was really hard to get a special gift for someone whose only want was to be by Regulus' side- his words.
Regulus had been the first to wake.
He had to squirm from James' iron grip, but eventually he managed.
Regulus stretched, yawning as he made his way into the bathroom.
He headed straight for the shower, letting the water heat up with a screech.
His clothes were strewn all around lazily before he stepped in the shower.
The water was piping hot- just how he liked it.
Steam billowed off the cool ground.
In the silence, Regulus had unknowingly begun to hum.
"You never invite me."
Regulus wouldn't lie, he jumped.
He turned to face James with a disapproving gaze.
"Maybe because we never end up showering." Regulus jeered.
"Who said anything about showering?" James mumbled suggestively, while his fingers traced up and down Regulus' side.
James was like an infant- slobbery and unable to keep his hands to himself.
Although Regulus didn't mind, it was Valentine's Day after all.
By the time they were finally ready, they were due to meet Remus and Sirius.
So of course Regulus had to wrangle James out of their room and into town.
The entire way there James acted like a child on Christmas.
He begun begging Regulus to know what his gift was.
Regulus scolded him like a child and told him if he didn't behave he wasn't getting it- which kept him quiet for the most part.
They arrived at Three Broomsticks, spotting Sirius and Remus at a table in the corner.
"Hello." Regulus greeted them with a smile as he slid into the booth across from the couple.
"How was your visit with Narcissa?" Sirius asked curiously.
"It was fine. She's expecting." Regulus explained.
"Good for her. Although bad for everyone else- having a demon child with half of Lucius' genes running around." Sirius jeered.
Regulus chuckled at that.
He wasn't wrong.
"What's his problem?" Sirius asked gesturing towards James, who sat quietly with his hands folded.
