James was merely just strolling down the hallway when they appeared.
It was almost out of thin air and James had to brace himself for impact.
"I'm so sorry-", He rushed, but his sentence fell short as he took in the two boys before him, "Have we met?"
It was such a bizarre feeling, but James could've sworn there was something familiar about them.
The one before him had dark curly hair and blue-grey eyes that looked so similar Regulus'.
He was tall and lanky, but not quite as tall as the boy beside him.
The other boy had perfectly kept blue hair. His eyes were a mesh of colors from a distance- something like Remus'- and he held a soft expression.
"No- uh....." The boys started, sharing a look.
James looked at them with furrowed brows.
"James Jr. - but everyone just calls me Junior and this is-" The dark-haired boy rambled.
"Teddy. Lupin." The blue-haired boy answered.
James looked around before squinting his eyes at the boys, "Am I taking the piss?"
"No- uh it's been great meeting you." Junior started before grabbing to shake James' hand.
James squeezed his eyes shut before opening them to see a room filled with books and artifacts.
He watched as the two boys that had once been before him entered the room.
Junior giggled, pressing a kiss to the taller boys lips as they leaned against the wall.
The pair paused monetarily as James heard the same footsteps they were hearing.
"If my dads catch us in the study, we're done for." Junior huffed as he looked around, frantically.
He grabbed Teddy's arm before dragging him towards the window, pushing the pane up before slipping out.
He helped Teddy climb through before sliding the window closed again.
James watched as himself and Regulus walked into the room- they looked older, but not any less happier.
"You look lovely today, have I told you that?" Older James muttered.
Older Regulus rolled his eyes, "Twelve times, in fact."
Older Regulus placed a book down onto the desk before swiveling towards older James, "What do you want?"
"Why do you assume I want something?" Older James quipped offended.
"You always use your charming flattery to get what you want." Older Regulus scoffed.
"So you admit I'm charming", Older James gleamed as older Regulus sent him a look, "fine."
"I just miss having a baby in the house." Older James explained.
"James we're almost 40." Older Regulus said.
"So were my parents when they had me and I turned out fine." Older James quipped.
"Debatable." Older Regulus scoffed.
James watched as his older self gave Regulus the puppy dog eyes.
Older Regulus huffed, "Last one. Got it?"
Older James gleamed as he kissed older Regulus passionately.
