I was so glad it was Saturday because I was ready for all of the good cooking.
I got Tripp dressed while Kayden got his diaper bag ready.
"We are ready to go Kayden."
"Let me put Tripp in the jeep for you." He smiled kissing my cheek.
We head to the beach where we always have our dinners between Uncle Gray's and Grandpa Levi's house.
When we pull up Grandma Avah walks up to get Tripp from me.
"Hi to you too grandma."
"Hi, there sweet girl! Now give me the baby." She laughed.
Kayden got him out of the carrier and handed him to grandma while I walked on down to the table where everyone else was.
"Where is Tripp?" Grandpa Levi asked.
"Grandma snatched him from me." I laughed.
"She always hogs Tripp. I have to go see him."
I can't help but smile while watching Grandpa. They love him as if he is one of us. I want him to be and soon.
We all gather around to eat and Grandpa said the blessing and we all dig in.
Tripp gets passed around from person to person and he is just sleeping right on through it all.
Aunt Remi takes him inside and changes his diaper while I eat my banana pudding. Aunt Remi makes some of the best I have ever tasted.
When Aunt Remi comes back out she hands Tripp over to my mom and she places kisses all over Tripp's face.
I see Kayden and dad nod to each other and before I can say anything Kayden squeezes my hand.
"Walk with me down the beach?"
"Yeah, let's go." I smile over at him.
"Going somewhere? Dad asks.
"Walking down the beach. Care to keep Tripp?"
"Oh, honey you don't even have to ask. I could hold this cutie all day." Mom laughed.
"You sound like grandma mom. If he gets fussy his bottle is in the fridge."
"Go! We will be fine Julia Alice."
Uncle Gray laughed. I looked over and Wyatt was laughing sitting beside Ruby.
I miss Ryker but he is serving our country and I am so proud of him. Can't say the same about Tyler.
Kayden grabs my hand and we walk up the beach towards his parent's new place.
"When are your parents coming back?"
"I am not sure tiger I haven't talked to them in a few days besides sending them pictures of Tripp."
I can't help but laugh. "It's Kayden who now with Tripp."
"I don't mind. He deserves to be spoiled."
We walk up the steps and take a look in the windows at what has been done inside. We don't have keys plus we don't want to mess with anything.
"Want to sit in the sand with me?"
"Sure sounds like a good idea." I smile over at him as he takes my hand.
We sit down and I take my sandals off and dig my toes in the sand.
Kayden takes his flip-flops off and plays around in the sand with his feet.
"How much you want to bet that everyone has kissed his face?" I laugh.
"Oh you know they have. His little face is so kissable."
"I am happy that he is still with us and I am thankful his dad got life in prison."
"It went by fast Tiger because he pleaded guilty and waived a trial."
"I am glad he did. Tripp never has to know him."
"I agree with you on that."
I was looking out into the water when Kayden leaned over and kissed my cheek.
"What was that for?"
"I love you, Tiger."
"I love you too Kayden." I smiled over at him before looking back out at the water.
"Julia."
That catches me off guard and when I look over at him he is down on one knee.
"Julia Alice Holgate I have something important to say to you."
My heart speeds up because I feel like I know what is happening. I watch as he pulls a box out of his pocket.
"Tiger I don't know what else to say but I love you and I know this is the right path we are taking. So we got it mixed up with a baby and then marriage but I love you with all of my heart and coming to North Carolina was the best decision I ever made because it led me right into your arms. Will you do me the honor and marry me?"
I was speechless and wasn't sure what to say but I smiled and shook my head yes before I actually got the words out.
"Yes, I will marry you Kayden!"
I jump up out of the sand and jump in his arms and we both fall back on the sand with me on top of him.
Our lips touch together and as his tongue finds mine I moan out.
"Tiger I need to put this ring on your finger."
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I cant wait to see what you have picked out for me."
"I had help. Alissa and Jacob helped me find the perfect ring but mostly Alissa."
He opens the box and it takes my breath away it's so beautiful. It's not big and bougie it's perfect for me.

He slips the ring on my finger and kissed it before wrapping me in his arms.
"Did my dad know?"
"I asked your parents for permission." He smirked.
"That's why my dad shook his head at you." I laughed.
"That is why but only him and your mom and then Alissa and Jacob know and were sworn to keep it quiet."
"Are you ready to go back and tell everyone else that we are getting married?"
"I am ready if you are. Want to get married tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow? Kayden that's not enough time."
"I know but soon and then we can adopt Tripp."
"I love that idea. Kayden, Julia, and Tripp Cresswell have a beautiful ring to it."
"I couldn't agree more Tiger." He pulls me in for another kiss.
