We all gathered outside of cabin 723, as Isabella fumbled with getting the key card out of her Chanel bag. After her attempts failed, she turned to us, her face scrunched with confusion.
“Are you guys sure this is the right room?”
I glanced over at Chelsea, and said, “No, I’m pretty sure this is the right room, Bella. Try flipping the card over or something.”
Isabella sighed and turned back to the challenge that lay before her. Chelsea and I soon heard the click and the turning of the door handle. Isabella looked back at us. “I knew that.”
We smiled secretly as Isabella made her way into our cabin. So, she may be a bit dumb…but don't we all have those moments? I tell this to Isabella constantly and it usually makes her feel better about herself. So anyways, we all got into our cabin, and our mouths dropped.
Okay. Maybe their mouths didn’t drop, but mine surely did. We were in some kind of living room/lounge area. To our left was a full bathroom, and to our right was our bedroom with three, twin-sized beds.
And before I knew it, Chelsea ran into the bedroom, Isabella trailing close behind. When I finally got into the room, they already claimed their beds. Chelsea claimed the bed by the window (which was expected. She always liked to gaze outside and get inspiration for some poetry). Isabella got the middle bed, which she looked happy about, leaving me with the one on the left. I shrugged. A bed is a bed.
I opened my luggage and placed the contents neatly in the chest at the end of my bed. I looked across at the other two. Chelsea was just dumping everything straight from her suitcase into her chest, and Isabella was organizing her clothes into potential outfits, and then carefully put it in her chest. That’s a little tidbit on our personalities; I’m a little tidier than Chelsea, but less obsessive than Isabella is. But, I assure you, it’s all cool.
After I put my suitcase in the corner of the room, I walked into the living room and saw Chelsea snooping around in the mini-fridge.
“Nina, this fridge is totally loaded,” she said as she pulled out an itty bitty can of Pepsi.
Isabella poke her head out of the bedroom.
“Do they have diet soda by any chance?” she asked.
“Yeah,” Chelsea said as she poured the diet Pepsi into a cup and handed it to her, “But I don’t think there’s any ice in here. Sorry, Bella.”
Isabella frowned as she looked down at the dark, cold yet ice-less liquid. Isabella always needed ice in her beverages; she had this odd infatuation with chewing on it afterwards. It was like two treats in one to her.
“Never fear,” I said as I grabbed an ice bucket and opened the door, “I think I spotted an ice machine on the way here. Back in a flash.”
I closed the door with a smile on my face. She had some kind of OCD, I swear. I started on my merry way when a neighboring cabin dweller came out of his room. And my goodness was he easy on the eyes. He had this quiffed up, blonde hair with streaks of brown and blue eyes, and he just looked like this 21st century Greek god. He sort of blocked my path with his beautiful body, and I moved to the right to let him pass. But, considerate Mr. Greek decided to move to the right too…my right, not his. So, we ended up in each other’s paths once again, but we both smiled at each other this time.
“Sorry,” I said as I moved to my left. Thankfully he stayed in his spot; or rather unfortunately he stayed in his spot. I was not objecting to keeping this up.
“Don’t be,” he said as he winked at me and walked in the opposite direction.
I kinda stood awestruck for a moment. I turned and watched him walk away. He turned his head, and caught me staring. He did this odd but cute smirk and continued walking, leaving me blushing like no other. Well, this whole little meeting kind of made me a little bit giddy, so instead of walking to the ice machine, I skipped. Yes, I skipped. You would too if your eyes feasted on the mystery man that stayed next door. But I stayed on the task I was assigned, and returned to my cabin with a bucket full of ice.
