The moment you hit your bed and click on your mood lamp, you stare on the flickering lights that mimic the galaxy. This used to make every single pain fade away.
The pain of your parents' divorce, that unbearable sting on your tummy before your appendix was taken out, Kristen and Rob's breakup... okay scratch that last one, but it did make you cry the entire night.
Without you realizing it, hot streams of tears started trickling down your cheeks. All your life, you always regarded yourself as someone who thrives, an ordinary teenager. You don't even claim to be popular in school but it never crossed your mind that others see you as ugly and fat.
Actually, you don't care if others see you that way but Jungkook? No way, he may be cocky but never this cruel. How can he even spit that to your face!
This is by far the most insulting attack you've gotten... what makes it sting deeper was not even the one who said it but how he said it, like he meant it and believed it.
The following day you see tons of notifications on your phone. You ignored it the entire time it was ringing and receiving messages. You get to the kitchen and got a bowl of cereal.

Good thing she's away, the last thing you want right now is to get your mom's self-help advice. You finally scroll through your phone and saw a couple of messages from Maegan and Halsey.
📱Maegan: A, where are you? Halsey just ditched us for early morning practice. Meet me in the ranger so I can drop you off.
📱 Halsey: Sorry I had to go ahead, I have an early morning practice later... I'll see you in school.

You see a couple of missed calls from Maegan and Halsey but what caught your attention was the 77 unanswered ones from Jungkook. Now at least you know why your phone went dead.
You get up from your seat to stare at your mom's message. I need to prove Jungkook wrong. "I am not a DUFF!!!"
******* Monday came and you're pretty determined to prove that you're not a DUFF. Since your mom will be hosting weekend seminars in Japan, she will not be around all weekends in the next couple of months.
This gives you enough space to execute your plan. Since your birthday is coming up this weekend, you planned on having Meagan and Halsey over the entire day... BUT you changed your mind.
You approached almost everyone on campus except Maegan and Halsey, inviting them to your house party this weekend. You want to prove a point that people around you don't see you and use you as a DUFF of your group.
You're not quite sure how your 2 best friends will react if they find out they're not invited but you need to keep them out of this so you could prove your point. Once this party becomes a hit, you'll tell Meagan and Halsey what's going on. Luckily they'll understand.
Jungkook was still insistent on talking to you and you finally gave him a chance. Not because you forgive him but because you wanted him in your party. He has to be there and see for himself how wrong he is for thinking you're a DUFF.
📱A: Party at my place this Friday 9PM bring your friends if you're good.
Jungkook knew it's your birthday and the invitation is actually a great chance for him to apologize. If he had to do it everyday for the rest of his life, he will. He lost your friendship once and he didn't want to lose it completely over this.

9PM: The place is all set for the party. You have cans of soda and booze in the fridge and cooler by the kitchen. Snacks and finger foods are neatly arranged all over the place. Your nana won't be here until Sunday morning so you pretty much have the entire house to yourself for the next 48 hours.
10PM and people started coming but somehow, when they get hold of news that Maegan and Halsey aren't around each one of them suddenly had to be somewhere else.
You're left with still a handful of people around, there were still those who stayed but again, this party can't even count as one. Why? You suddenly notice Marcus in your living room then another girl and one more guy.
Looking at them from a distance, you finally realized that these people are the same ones Jungkook pointed out as their group's DUFF. F*ck! I just hosted a DUFF party!
