As if his head was dunk underwater, Jungkook felt like everyhting around him was muffled and in slow motion. He always thought his ex best friend was okay looking, but not this... hot.
He was snapped out of his own trance when Ken snapped his fingers to his face. "Kook!"
"What?... I m-mean hey... You look r-really... uhm..." Jungkook replied stuttering.
Pretty! You damn idiot... tell her she's pretty!
"Okay..." He blurted out in haste.
Okay?! The f*ck, did I just say?... she looks really okay?!
"Okay?..." You asked him sounding so unsure. "At least I don't look like a duff anymore... from a mile away that is." You said smiling, trying to make the situation better.
You know you're not even half as pretty as the girls he dated in the past and you didn't really expect a cinderella makeover today. But hearing him say you look okay stings a bit. Oh well, you can't charm everyone right?
"She looks gorgeous!" Ken said applauding.
"Yes she does... I... err... I bought a few more stuff for you." He says showing you a couple of paper bags in his grip.
"Thanks! I think I should pay at the counter now." You were about to head to the cashier when Jungkook softly pulled you by the wrist.
"It's already taken cared of..." He said almost in a whisper.
"What? No!... I'd feel bad not paying... Kook just this one please?" You plead with those puppy eyes that Jungkook couldn't seem to resist. But no... he's not letting you pay.
You thanked Ken for the great work he did then you both headed back to Jungkook's car. You were quiet the entire time, a bit disappointed and embarrassed that he's been spending so much on you after how you badly treated him.
He drove off while you sat there in silence, looking at the window and thinking of random things not noticing that Jungkook has been eyeing you from his side.
"Are you still upset?... Okay if you want, you can just pay me with something else..." He raises his eyebrows in a naughty way that made you gulp.
"Don't worry... I promise to make you feel good." He winks at you so lewdly you almost died of embarrassment on the spot.
You hit his arm hard but he seemed unfazed. "Can't you be serious just this once?"
"Okay... okay... I need a plus one to my cousin's wedding..." He said seriously.
"That's it?" You asked, not believing there's nothing more to this than just a wedding.
"Yup... just be your adorable self babe." He said with a wide grin.
Silence fills the thick air but you still can't believe that that's the only thing this bunny boy wants from you. Then there it is... that mischievous smirk forming on his lips.
"Spill!" You said before folding your arms across your chest and leaning on the door to take a good look at him.
"It's this weekend... in Jeju." He said hiding his laughter.
*******
"I'm not talking to you..." You said irritated so early in the morning. You jump on a local flight to Jeju on a freaking Saturday at 6am with Jungkook. When he said you have a morning flight, you thought you'd still be snoozing until 7am at least... but NO! This pain in the butt unduffer dragged you out of bed at 3am.
"Just get to sleep when we're seated." He said in an apologetic tone.
"Who the hell attends a wedding a whole day before one anyway?" You asked him sounding irritated.
"The cool ones..." He smiles at you cockily before adjusting his aviators. "You want the window seat?" He asked not knowing which side you prefer to take.
"I'm good anywhere." You reply, this time in between yawns as you follow him through the aisle.
He still gives you the window seat and the moment you're settled and buckled up, you lean your head back and closed your eyes.
Jungkook just lets you be as he doodles on his phone, setting his playlist on repeat. A few minutes after, your head suddenly drops to his side and he couldn't help but to take a selfie.
It was suppose to be a funny shot but something unexpected happened. You snuggled closer to his shoulder unconsciously with your face directly angled on the crook of his neck. Every breath you made felt like heaven to his skin. It didn't help when you hooked your arms to tug around his.
Jungkook couldn't believe how his heart raced the moment he got a whiff of your cologne. It was the same fresh scent he knows you love wearing. It never really bothered him before but today was different. Good different.
