Chapter 4:- Awkward Drive

Marc's POV♡

As the lunch rolled in, I immediately went to the cafeteria. I saw Katie standing in line waiting for her food. I went towards her.
"Hey, Katie." I greeted.
"Hey."
We took our food and went towards our table seeing Stephanie blushing while talking to someone on the phone. This bad girl also blushes, that's pretty interesting. As soon as she saw us coming she told the person, "Babe, Katie is here. I will talk to you later." Then she hung up.
"Hey, Bitch! Hey new guy." She greeted us.
"Hey, Chica! Talking to your boyfriend?" Katie said.
"Yeah. He was teasing me, like-" Stephanie was cut short by Katie's whining. "Ok ok, I don't want to listen about how my brother was teasing my best friend. It's gross."

Ok..... Katie's brother is Stephanie's boyfriend. Interesting.

"So, Stephanie is dating your brother?"
I asked confirming.
"Oh, my god dude! Yes." Katie said. "Like literally when I got to know about them I was shocked."
"Clearly. You didn't even talk to us for like a month. You were that mad." Stephanie said.
"Of course I mean just imagine your best friend with your sibling," Katie complained.
"Nobody can resist a hot body like him."
Katie snorted and said, "I don't want to know how hot my brother is. Ew! No." She whined.
"New boy, do you have any siblings?" Stephanie asked.
"First of all don't call me new guy or boy. Either call me Marcus or Marc."
"Marc, it is," Katie said.
"Ok great, now tell me do you have any siblings?"
"Yes. An elder sister who is recently engaged. And Katie you will like her. Like you she also likes all this social media stuff."
"Oh... that's great."
"So...Chica are you coming to back to school party at Lenny's house on Friday?" Stephanie asked Katie.
"Yeah no," Katie said.
"Why, you go to all the parties."
"I do not want to go because it is at Lenny's house."
"Who cares.....just come with me and we will rock it. And Marcus you should also come."
"Oh, I am for sure up for it. and drag Katie myself."
"What!! No, you can't do that."
"Sure, he can do. Alongside me."
"But-"

As she was going to say something bell rang. Katie said, "Ok bye! Steph meet me at the locker after school and Marc, you in the parking lot."
"Ok," I said.

I felt chills when Katie said my name. MARC. Even when she calls me Marcus. I feel good.
I am for sure attracted to her. She is something else. But now I like her as a friend. Let's hope for a good friendship.

After all the classes were over, I stepped out of the school and saw Katie with a guy near a car, which I assume is her car. I went towards her.
"Hey."
"Hey, Marc. This is Luke, hmmm...hh.. a friend." She introduced herself nervously. Why was she nervous?
"And Luke this is Marcus."
"Hey" I forwarded my hand for a handshake but he didn't budge a little. I embarrassingly drop my hands.

Katie broke the silence, "Ok let's go."
Before I even move a little, that Luke dude took the passenger's seat.
How rude! I don't like him a little bit. How is he even friends with the kind Katie?

I sat in the back seat and told Katie my address. I know for sure that the ride will be hella awkward.

They both started talking to themselves and I am just listening like a third wheel.
"So...Luke how is the little guy of yours. I miss him." She asked him.
"Ted is fine. He also misses you. He still has a habit of glancing out the window at 4:30 sharp."
Katie laughed. Does he have a kid??? Maybe a brother....hmmm!! Possible.
"Oh my god! I need to meet him."
"So....come over by my house sometime. Not only Ted but I also miss you." He said sadly. I think they have some history together.
"Luke, are you seriously comparing yourself with a dog? I see you every day and it's been 2 months since I have not seen Ted."
"Make Ted your boyfriend."
Katie narrowed her eyes at Luke and he laughed.
"Ok Luke...I need your advice on something."
"Shoot."
"So... I was thinking to open a podcast channel."
"That's a dope idea."
"I know right? I mean these days a lot of people make podcasts."
"Have you thought about who will be the co-host and what topic you will talk about?"
"Yeah no, I have thought about the topics, I won't be revealed right now. And about the host, I will think."
"Ok...."
"So... Marc, what do you think about it. It is a great idea, isn't it?" She asked.
"Of course. It is the best idea. My sister also makes podcasts and youtube videos."
"What's her name?"
"Eloise Peyton."
"Ohh...I have seen some of her videos. Mostly with her fiancé."
"Yeah."

After a couple of minutes, I reached my home. I opened the gate and stepped out and saw Katie also getting out of the car.
"So...I need to ask you something." She asked me.
"Ask."
"As I told you. I am making a podcast channel. So...I was thinking that can you be the co-host?"
WHAT!!!! She's asking me to be the co-host.
"Me...? Seriously! Co-host. You have Stephanie and Luke. Why me? I mean we only met yesterday and how can you trust me with this?" He babbled.
"Hey......I think I can trust you with this."
"But how?"
"You know I don't have a lot of guy friends. Either there is Stephanie my best friend or some YouTuber friends who I mostly make videos with. And Luke is my ex."
"Ex?"
"Yes, we were friends before dating. So, after the break up we are still friends. But sometimes you know it's awkward. And one more reason is that we don't know about each other much, so it will be great to learn about each other."
"Ok....."
"So....will you at least think about it?"
"Ok. I will think about it and tell you."
"Thank you so much! Ok bye, Luke is waiting."
"Ok bye."
She went towards her car and drive away. And I went inside my home.
