We lived the realities,

In the worlds apart,

Their presence was like my living thread,

Something that made me wake up and face the sun every day,

I was from a different planet,

And so were they,

Still, our love prevailed,

And lived even though we were worlds apart,

Yet connected by the thread of love and death,

For when someone left the world of living on their planet,

That soulless body got shipped to our place,

As we lived in the graveyard of beings,

Everything that perished was thrown at us,

We accepted them with wide arms,

And who am I?

I'm just a living soul surrounded by the souls of the dead,

Waking up each morning to be greeted by another living soul,

Who is madly in love with my foolish self,

For they don't mind that all I ever have are glances,

Glances at the people who have left this realm of the living,

Of the ones who already are set on their journeys to the afterlife,

How did I meet them? You might ask,

Something that became possible due to the power of loneliness,

Loneliness brings and tears souls apart,

Such emotion brought our broken hearts together,

By the time we scratched each other's rough surfaces,

To create a groove,

That would be perfect,

For our broken pieces,

To find a shelter at,

We came together,

Their voice made my chains of loneliness vanish,

The presence of a soul that won't leave my side,

Inspired me and created new emotions for me to feel,

We knew and talked together for years and years,

As time passed, we grew old together,

Both decided to throw away the society's expectation of starting a family,

Cause what we wanted was to be together with no one else than each other,

But what divided us was powerful,

The only time I was allowed to see the faces of people not from my planet,

Was when I was at work,

Tending the tree of graves of 'the Gone,'

For the task, I never hated my job,

It was told that,

What I did was the job of nobles,

Only the chosen could do it,

But that wasn't what drove me to work every day,

What inspired me every day was the soul who lived far,
