Solstice's Time

Chapter 4 ~ The Fight

A/N We can all guess what's happening in this chapter :> also i only write in school, and this chapter im writing in lunch detention lol- i only got one because i was on instagram texting a friend 😋💅 worth it though, so whatever i guess lol

Solstice was taken from her cell while she slept, she was woken up roughly by surprise. She blinked open her eyes as she was locked into a muzzle, and a small platform on wheels. She stood up, which she was able to do in these chains that did weigh her down either way. She stared ahead as she was marched into a dark room, one way in, one way out. Her wings were clamped so she couldn't open them- she figured that out quickly, as she tried to fling them open hopefully.

Solstice could hear what sounded like many loud voices speaking at once, dragons and dragonesses, she heard. "Dragons and Dragonesses! Take your bets!" And she was suddenly rolled out into the open, "Solstice! A hybrid, and animus! She's a newbie to the arena, let's give her a warm welcome!" Called the voice, before whoever the announcer was, swooped over to announce her opponent, before he could speak an absolutely massive skywing with smoke coming from him walked out. "Mountain! Our favorite champion and firescales!" Called the voice, "Place your bets, a few dragons will be coming around with a sign on them, place your bets there!" Called the announcer once more as Solstice looked around. Four dragons shot out of a dark room and held up large buckets with large signs that said "Mountain" and "Solstice" on them.

Solstice looked around before she could feel herself be set free, a guard held her tail roughly until the round started, and then she was set free in the sand. Mountain suddenly let loose a loud roar as he raced forward, Solstice slightly cowered and ran, looking around some more as Mountain chased after her. Solstice faced him and summoned a massive boulder, shoving it towards him as it hurled towards him at almost impossible speeds. Mountain moved out of the way and Solstice ran. Mountain had the advantage here, being used to the ground and being massive compared to her. He reached for her, her barb nearly being singed off as he tried to grab hold of her tail.

Mountain roared something at her as Solstice whipped around and picked a massive talon full of the gravely sand and she kept throwing the sandy gravel into his eyes and face. He spat out rocks and sand as Solstice raced forward and shoved two talons full into his mouth and eyes. She raced away as he roared again, shaking his head and blinking but he raced after her again, he stumbled in the sand and slipped, falling on his face. He got up and chased once more, he jumped and nearly tackled Solstice, grabbing her back talons and her scales melted together instantly. Solstice roared loudly and teleported away suddenly, surprising herself, but she healed herself quickly, whining as she did. She grabbed another talon full of sand and threw it at the ground thinking of maybe giving up- but suddenly a massive spike of stone and sand shot from the ground, just barely missing his face as he charged, before getting smacked backwards as he ran nearly into it.

Mountain fell back and stared at the sudden stone spike that just missed his face. He rubbed his snout and turned around to move back to get a better look at her. Solstice stared down at him as she climbed up the massive spike of stone and sand, she turned her stare with a glare with a hiss, she was perfectly fine and healed. "Wanna try that again?" Solstice spat at him, flaring her wings slightly at him. Mountain growled at her and crouched to jump, and as he jumped, another spike shot out from the ground and got him in the base of the tail, ripping it off, it fell to the ground and wriggled. A loud gasp of horror and disgust echoed from the audience. Solstice let her spikes follow underneath her as she walked down to the ground, creating a small 'staircase'. She stared him straight in the face and smiled, before one last spike jumped from the ground and hit him straight through the jaws and branched off getting him through the neck and chest, bringing his body with the spike, rag-dolling it limply.

Mountain fell dead instantly, his face frozen in a horrored look, his eyes forever widened in fear, his eyelids relaxed and were half shut. His eyes died of all light and glazed over. Solstice stared at mountain before she grinned down at the dead body, her grin slowly became one of disgust. She had just killed someone, she watched the glow  of his scales slowly fade away as her name was announced, to which she looked up and looked around at the crowd. She had no idea where she was, all she knew now is that she had to kill to survive, as was just demonstrated by Mountain. She looked around some more, letting a low hiss out as she was dragged away and put under chains and hooked up once again to the platform on wheels. She tried to breathe fire at the guard who just looked even more annoyed as he put her in a muzzle. "Don't you muz-!" She growled out, getting cut off with the muzzle.

Solstice was put back into the jail cell as they went through the dark hallways to go to Panther's room. Panther sashed in after the guard left, grinning, no no. Not grinning- he was smirking. "Perfect, perfect! Good job." He smirked, "you have another fight tomorrow and you meet the boss." Panther mused, ordering in some meat, fruit and water, which was brought in and given to Solstice carefully through a gap in the bars. She wolfed down the steak and cut away the strawberry skin, leaving it on the ground. She had other fruit, and ate some of it, not a lot, but still some of it. She didn't touch the pineapple or the kiwi. She cut them up and began to toss the pieces right at Panther or onto his desk until he got fed up with it and yelled at her.

Solstice glared at him, "You try being bored and having no books or anything!" She yelled right back at him, puffing out smoke from her nose as she finished her sentence. Panther growled and slammed his talons on the desk, getting up and yelling at a guard to get him lots of books. Panther glared at her and grumbled something, clearly annoyed. He continued doing whatever he was doing, writing stuff down, two guards came back in with two massive crates of books, one to one guard. The guards set the crates beside Panther's desk. "Put the crates in her cage." He said, tossing the keys to one of the guards who caught the keys and unlocked the door and put both crates inside of Solstice's cage. Solstice growled at the guards who glared at her, locked her back up and left.
