Chapter 2

Alex pov

I woke up to the sound of my phone, my eyes were heavy and my hair was a mess.Someone was calling me, but my phone was nowhere to be seen. While I looked around I noticed my roommate looking at me. "Searching for this?" she held up my phone. Why did she had it? I opened my mouth ready to argue when she spoke again. "It fell to the floor when you were sleeping smartass" taking it from her hand I looked at the number, my brother called. "Thanks..." understanding me from the way I said it she spoke "My name is Casandra, but most people call me Cass" Cass looked at me waiting for an answer "My name is Alex" I said in a soft tone.

I grabbed my phone and texted my brother. He answered after not much more than 2 minutes.

Alex: Hey, what's up?

Mike: did you saw my call?

Alex: I did. Is everything alright?

Alex: Did dad arrive?

Mike: Yeah just checking and yes he did. I'm going for a meal, talk to you later sis.

After that message my brother went offline. I looked at my phones clock it marked 3:00pm. I decided to go eat, I would usually stay and eat a snack or something, but I had nothing.

When I was heading to the cafeteria, that was more like a little food court, I recived another message from my brother.

Mike: guess were I am heading?

I was about to text him back when I bumped on someone. I fell against the ground hitting my elbow. "Oh my! I am so sorry!" After that I felt a hand grabbing my arm and pulling me up."I am really really sorry! I was not looking" I softly babbled "Its alright, I was not looking were I was heading either". I finally looked at the person I had bumped into, brown chocolate hair that matched brownish caramel eyes, big smile with dimples."I'm Dan um and if you ask about pronouns, its he " Dan smiled at me "Whats your name?" his beautiful brown eyes were fixed on me. "I..." Words stopped coming out. 3 seconds he stood looking at me, waiting for an answer, 3 seconds that felt like an eternity"Sorry...I have to go" I swooped my phone out of the ground and ran.

He just asked for my name! he just asked for my name! I usually ruin things like that, in the most stupid ways. I took another bite of my cheese pizza. This, this is the reason you are a fail, the reason you have no friends, the reason everyone finds you annoying, the reason you hate yourself. I thought to myself as I looked into the blank.My eyes focused on someone, then, I recognized that hair. Shit, I docked under the table, making me look stupid. It was him.

I breath in and out. He couldn't see me, he probably thinks I am a horrible person already. I peeked up to see if he was gone, for my luck, he was on a row for pizza. I stood up as quick as possible and ran grabbing my pizza box and phone. That was a close one. I straightened my ruffled shirt once that I was in the hallway. I was heading to my dorm when I saw a familiar face, it was Cass.

I had the intention to ignore her, but she called me. "Hey, Alex! c'me here" I grunted and walked to her. She was with a dark skinned girl with beautiful curly black hair and big brown eyes and with a tall guy with raven black hair and beautiful blue eyes. "This here is my roommate Alex" Cass said pointing at me. I waved awkwardly "These are Shauna and Phill" she said pointing at the two of them, Cass was wearing a band shirt and skinny jeans."Hi alex!" Shaun said in a cheerly tone "Hi" I responded in a shy voice "Hi, nice to meet you Alex" The guy looked at me smiling, I noticed he was wearing a pokemon shirt."Hi, same.Is that a pokemon shirt?!" Cass grunted and muttered something that sounded like, not with games again. Phil smiled "Yes, it is, do you play pokemon?" "Yeah I love video games" I said as I straightened my Legend of Zelda shirt. I has the phrase -you've met with a terrible fate, haven't you- and myoras mask on the center of the shirt. "This is from Legend of Zelda, mayoras mask" You giggled. Class looked at her phone "Shit guys! we are going to be late again!" Shauna pouted and looked at her "Sorry" Cass just rolled her eyes but then smiled. "We are going to the cinema, want to come?" Shauna asked cheerly, Cass nodded. "Thanks" I considered going, but I was probably just going to be annoying and they were doing it for manners "but I have other plans", I waved goodbye and rushed to my room.
