Chapter 9: Surprise, surprise

Valerie's POV

We all gasped at the same time....

"C-C-C-Chris?! W-What took you so l-l-long?!" Tricia and I stammered at the same time..

Chris was wearing a red turtleneck with blue jeans and black n' white converse..

"C-Chris.." Katy sobbed

She was about to go upstairs again until Chris slowly put down his present for Katy, rushed towards her and carried her back towards the living room..

"CHRIS, LET ME GO!!!" Katy shouted, while crying

He finally put her down and knelt to hug her..Katy was surprised and shocked at the same time, and hugged him back..

"I'm so sorry Katy, I...I should have left earlier, but I wanted to surprise you , so I decided to go to your house at the last minute. Unfortunately, I got stuck in traffic, so please, accept my apology.." Chris explained

"Chris..." Katy said, "I'll stop crying now, and I accept your apology.."

It was already 10 AM, honestly, I thought this drama would go on and on FOREVER! Anyway, for the next 2 hours, Chris, Tricia, Katy and I just watched TV. After lunch, we decided to play some common party games..

First, we played "Pin the tail on the donkey", OMG! When it was Katy's turn, she kept on walking towards our direction as we ran for our lives! Hey, neither of us wanted to get pinned instead of the donkey! Speaking of which, when she was finally near the donkey, I couldn't help but help her even though it's considered to be cheating, so I yelled:

"Katy, pin it (And I mean the tail) at the left!"

OMG! It was the PERFECT pin!! We also played "Hit the pinata", "Stop dance", and more...During dinner, we suddenly had another unexpected visitor..

"Happy 11th birthday, Katy!" Someone shouted outside

Seriously? deja vu, this is happening all over again!

Katy left the table and ran towards the door, and when she opened it, she gasped..

"Good evening, Charley!" Katy greeted

I stand corrected, this time Katy isn't mad at the person at the door THIS time..and, why is Charley late, anyway?

Charles' POV

I grabbed my present for Katy from my car and closed the door shut with my foot...then Katy and I walked towards the dining table, that's when everyone stopped chatting, and gasped..

"Hey, Charley! What took you so long?!" Tricia complained
