The Incident

Lucy's POV

It was a normal day at Fairy Tail. There were tables being thrown, people getting into fights, laughter, and drinking.

"Luce come over here will ya?" Natsu my best friend calls. "Sure thing one minute" I get up from my usual spot at the bar and walk over to the request board where Natsu was.

"Natsu what's up" "You're here, good." Natsu says with his bright grin.

Man he sure is cute when he smiles... Wait what am I thinking?!?! Lucy snap out of it Natsu would never think like that!!

"Yeah I'm here what is it?"
"Well Luce you see we haven't gone on a job in a while and your rent needs paid doesn't it?" Natsu says with a hint of pink on his cheeks.

That's right I've been so laid back recently I totally forgot I have rent! Wait did Natsu actually just blush when he said that? It's probably nothing, but still...

"Thanks Natsu it completely slipped my mind."
"No problem Luce that's what friends are for."

Natsu's POV

I can see Lucy sitting at the bar. We haven't gone a job together in months, well not since the grand magic games. She's had enough money for her rent, well until now. Maybe I should ask if she wants to come on a job with me today? Well I guess I should ask.

"Hey Luce come over here will ya?"
She looks up to see who yelled. She smiles and calls back, "Sure thing one minute." Lucy gets up and starts to walk over.

Man she is just so cute!! Look at how she walks and is. I wish she would see me as something more than her best friend...

"Natsu what's up?," she asks. "Good you're here." I say "Yeah I'm here what is it?" She asks kinda confused. "Well Luce you see we haven't gone on a job in a while and your rent needs paid doesn't it?" I ask, Crap! Did I just blush?!

"Thanks Natsu it completely slipped my mind." She says thankfully. "No problem Luce that's what friends are for."

No Ones POV

Natsu and Lucy choose a job. The job is worth 75,000 jewel and its to get rid of some bandits near the outside of Crocus. So, they tell the rest of Team Natsu and head out for their request. They head to the train station and board on the earliest trip to Crocus.

"Ugh... Why couldn't we just walk there guys?" Natsu groans while laying on Lucy's lap. "Because it's just too far we need to be quick and diligent, this is the only way." Erza says while glaring. "Yes ma'am" Natsu chokes out. "Haha that's what you get flame brain" gray says while smirking. "Gray do you want to be sick too because I can make that happen." Erza tells. "No ma'am sorry ma'am.

That was the end of the talking for the rest of the trip. Once the team got there they went to meet up with their client Mr. Melin.

Mr. Melin's POV

"For Heaven's sake when are those brats going to get here!" "Sir please do calm down; they said it would take them some time to get here from Magnolia, please be patient." My maid says calmly. "But those monsters will ruin me!" "Yes sir I understand...wait what did you say monsters?" "Of course I said monsters what else could possibly take down my guarded stock?" "Oh well I don't know sir..."

I wonder why she's acting like that I told her monsters before didn't I? Oh well, I think I did so it must be true. What else could I have said?

Lucy's POV

"Wow look at this, isn't this city just marvelous!" "Yeah Luce it sure is" Natsu says. "Well now we need to talk to our client so we must be going" Erza says with certainty.

I wonder what is up with Erza she has seemed so violent throughout this trip. She's not normally this cold towards us. Oh well someone might have just took her cake without permission.

Erza's POV

This job doesn't seem right. If there were bandits couldn't the guard just get rid of them? I mean it is very close to the capital of Fiore. You would think this small matter would have been taken care of already without the help of a guild. I'm going to need to look more into this to find out for sure. When we get to the client's house I'll ask to clarify this matter at hand.

Lucy's POV

"Alright guys the flyer says that Mr. Melin's house is right here..." "Luce is everything all right you look like you just saw a ghost." natsu says with worry in his eyes.
"Oh yeah I'm fine let's just go in"

Why does this place look so familiar? I feel like I've been here before.

"Ok let's go! I'm all fired up!" Natsu says. "Alright let's go" I say glad to see Natsu smiling.

Now inside Mr Melin's Home No ones POV

"Welcome fairy's to my home I am Mr. Melin, please have a seat." "That won't be necessary sir, we came to receive any final information and then be on our way." Erza says calmly. "Oh well then you may leave all your information you'll need is on the flyer." "Thank you, then we will be on our way." Erza says.

Once team Natsu leaves they go straight to where Mr. Melin's stock was ambushed. They wait in hiding until night fall in order to catch the "bandits"

"Look over there" gray says looking at the path. "What is that?" Lucy questions. "I don't know but that has to be the bandits we told the people to stay away from this area until the issue is resolved." Erza says. "Let's go" Natsu roars out onto the path to ambush them.

Natsu's POV

Something doesn't smell right. That's not what a human smells like. Wait hold on that's not good!!

"Everyone get back those Aren't bandits!!" I scream trying to warn my nakama of the misfortune. "What is it Natsu?!" Luce screams sounding scared. "Run!" Erza yells knowing the situation we are in. "Lucy get back" gray tries to get to Lucy but it's too late. "Ahhhh" Lucy screams in pain and collapses. "Luce!!!!" I scream. "You bastards are going to pay."

Those were not bandits those were monsters of zeref. They have immense power. I don't know what to do. I know we can't defeat them like this. Why didn't the client tell us that they weren't bandits? All we can do now is fight and try to survive.

Lucy's POV

Why am I feeling so faint. My magic feels as if it's empty. My eyes are getting heavy. All I see is gray running towards me telling me to get back. Natsu is screaming and crying? I wonder why. All I can see is the world growing darker. I can't hear anyone anymore. I think this is it for now. Goodbye Natsu....
