9. Mayday

Xiao Zhan entered into the bridge and hugged yibo from the back. Wang yibo, swivelled around and burst into tears when he saw who was hugging him. Zhan drew circles on his back and kissed his forehead.

Wang Yibo peered in zhan's eyes for few seconds before he whispered "Zhan ge! It's time to call mayday"

"We can still ask for help right?" Xiao Zhan stroked yibo's head gently and asked in a soft voice. He couldn't believe it was his voice, so calm and soothing. He was completely a different person around yibo.

"Zh-zhan ge, I am incapable and incompetent" Yibo uttered faintly while clutching zhan's shoulders.

"Nothing will happen baby. Let's Inform the authorities and we will be alright. They would not let me die that easily, right!" Zhan laughed to lighten the mood, but, in reality, he was worried deep inside.

Wang yibo peered at xiao zhan before he let out a breathtaking smile. Xiao Zhan skipped a beat and smiled back, unconsciously.

Firstly, they moved towards the deck and yibo used the radiotelephone to contact the port office. "Mayday Mayday Mayday! This is Captain Wang yibo from cruise liner Empress Dorris, how do you read me. Over", he immediately called the emergency code.

Port service : "Cruise liner Empress Dorris this is port service. I read you excellent, loud and clear. Go ahead. Over."

Yibo: "Port service this is cruise liner Empress Dorris. Call sign Mayday. I am on fire on engine room in southern deck. Over".

Port service: "Cruise liner Empress Dorris this is Port service, Is fire under control? Over."

Yibo : "Port service this is cruise liner Empress Dorris, the fire is exhausted but there's a danger of explosion. We have lost the engines and are on emergency generators. Over."

Port service : "Cruise liner Empress Dorris, What is the assistance required? Over."

Yibo: "Port service, we need firefighting, medical, waterway evacuating assistance immediately. There's a heavy storm night. Over"."

Port service: "Cruise liner Empress Dorris, we will send firefighting, medical, waterway evacuating assistance immediately. And how many killed and injured. Over." He didn't ask for air-sea rescue system because they were in the middle of the ocean and it was dangerous and nearly impossible to rescue them through airway.

Yibo : "Port service, no crews were killed or injured. Over."

Port service : "Cruise liner Empress Dorris, We can't track the ship. Check the gps immediately. Over."

Wang yibo and Xiao zhan were shocked when they heard this. Yibo tried to adjust the gps but he couldn't. He wasn't able to control the ship anymore. Nothing was working in the deck. He was shivering visibly and a shaky breath left his mouth as he revealed ,"Zhan ge, looks like the systems were failed and someone deliberately did this."

"Huh? Now what yibo?" Zhan gasped.

"It's must be a clever one", yibo mumbled but Zhan heard him clearly. His hands trembled and he sat on a chair helplessly. "No it can't be-" his trance broke when yibo started replying the port service.

Yibo: "Port service, system is not working. Locate through Search and Rescue Transponder. Over."

(SARTs are of use in ships or lifeboats. They are the most supportive machines in case of an unprecedented emergency for quick detection of the vessles. SARTs are designed to remain afloat on the water for a long time in case the vessel finds itself submerged in water)
