An Unexpected Love

Y/N Severide woke up to the sound of her alarm clock playing Cinderella's 'Shake Me' as her wake up song to start her shift day. Y/N is PIC (Paramedic In Charge) on Ambulance 61 at Firehouse 51. She lives with her brother and Squad 3 lieutenant, Kelly Severide and his girlfriend Stella Kidd. She got up to the kitchen to get some coffee and get ready for shift unknown to her that a life changer is coming her way. Usually shift days are slow and boring but Y/N felt as though this shift is going to be the best shift she has ever had in years.

Kelly: Morning sis, sleep okay?
Y/N: Mornin' big bro and yeah it was a gooood sleep.
Stella: Well, you seem extra excited for it being a shift day.
Y/N: Yeah; I mean aside from having a wild dream; I feel like this shift is going to be very interesting. Well I'm going to get ready for shift then we can head out.
Kelly and Stella: Okay.

Y/N went back to her room and changed for shift within 10 minutes while drinking her coffee. Once she changed Y/N, Kelly, and Stella left for work. After about a 10-15 minute drive to the Firehouse; we all put our stuff in our assigned lockers when the bells went off.

Alarm: Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61; accident intersection of S. Loomis and W. Taylor.

Welp; so much for breakfast. The assigned units got into their rigs and headed for the accident. The accident involved a black limo and a car; the car rear-ended the limo. Once we reached the accident, Truck and Squad went to check the accident and help anybody while my partner on Ambo, Sylvie, and Y/N went to check on the victims in the limo to see if anyone was injured.

Sure enough, inside the limo are people who Y/N would have never expected it to be the member of her favorite 80s glam metal band, Cinderella. Inside the limo is lead singer and guitarist Tom Keifer, guitarist Jeff LaBar, bassist Eric Brittingham, and drummer Fred Coury. Internally she was freaking out, but outside she was full on Paramedic mode.

Y/N: Anybody injured?
Tom: No we're all good but my buddy Eric has a piece of glass stuck on his arm.
Y/N: Okay; uhm can you three move out of the way please.
Tom, Jeff, and Fred: Sure.
Y/N: Thank you. Brett I need some gauze, tape, a sling, and scissors; we need to keep the glass steady til' we get to Med. Eric do you think that you can stay still while I treat your injury?
Eric: Yeah I can.
Y/N: Okay; your doing great just keep taking slow deep breaths.
Lt. Casey: Severide #2 we need additional ambos we got two more victims. Brett we need your help.
Y/N: Copy that Casey. Main this is ambo 61 we need two additional ambulances at our location.
Main: Copy that ambo 61.
Sylvie: Copy that on my way.
Sylvie: You good here Severide?
Y/N: Yeah go ahead. Okay Eric you're all set we just need to get you to the Hospital so that the Doctors can take out the glass and put stitches on; is that okay?
Eric: Yes ma'am.
Y/N: Okay; can you stand up and walk with me to the ambo?
Eric: Yes ma'am.
Y/N: Okay; I can only take one of you in the Ambo; who's it going to be?
Tom: I'll go; Jeff, Fred meet us there.
Jeff and Fred: Sounds good.
Y/N: Alright; you two can meet us at Chicago Med.
Jeff: Okay thank you so much for your help.
Y/N: It's what we do. Brett are we good to go?
Sylvie: Yeah all good the other ambos just got here let's get to Med.
Y/N: Alright let's get going.
