I'm Not Your Fool

Hey my name is Charlotte Matthews, I live in Chicago, but I'm originally from Philadelphia. I grew up with my best friends Eric Brittingham, Tom Keifer, Jeff LaBar, and Fred Coury and together we formed a band known as Cinderella. I was in charge of their hair, makeup, and stage clothes for every gig and also sometimes they'd ask me to help with other stuff like sing backing vocals or play the guitar and keyboard.

While living in Philly, me and Tom had this friends with benefits relationship, although I will admit that I always had a crush on Tom, but we are both shy to admit it. Unfortunately, Tom found someone, meaning that we had to put our friends with benefits relationship on hold, and I couldn't take seeing him happy with someone else anymore so I decided to move to Chicago. Although I knew I had to say goodbye to my best friends and crush even though I promised to keep in touch, but I need this.

Flashback: Philadelphia, PA
A week after Tom told us that he found someone special in his life, it felt like my heart broke into a million pieces. We were at Tom's place for practice, when I decided to deliver the news.

Charlotte: Hey guys, there's something I need to tell you all.
Jeff: <with a look of concern> What is it Char?
Charlotte: <takes a deep breath> I decided that I need a break from all of this, it's not you guys' fault I just feel like I need to see what else the world has to offer me. So I'm moving to Chicago and train to become a Firefighter. <I could see the guys frown, but the one that took it the hardest was Tom>
Eric: We understand Charlotte, you're going to be one hell of a Firefighter, you will always have us as your friends and be a part of Cinderella, and most importantly your job will be kept safe.
Charlotte: I just want to say thank you to all of you for being there for me and I could not have asked for better friends than you four. <she said getting teary eyed>
Fred: Come on, one last group hug!

We broke the hug, they helped me pack, and even said goodbye to me at the Airport. I hope to see you guys soon.
End Flashback

When I moved to Chicago, I fixed my friendship with Tom after I broke the news that I was moving, but we are now better. I applied to the Fire Academy, passed with flying colors, and was assigned to Truck 81 at Firehouse 51. When I arrived, I caught the eye of a certain Squad Lieutenant, Kelly Severide. We talked and got to know each other better and it just so happens that he is single. He invited me for drinks after shift at this Bar called 'Molly's', and let's just say that it went well for the most part, but I could not stop thinking about Tom.

Flashback: Outside my apartment Chicago, IL
We left left the Bar and so far this night has been pretty amazing. He drove me back to my apartment and walked me to my door.

Charlotte: <chuckles> I had an awesome time Kelly, hopefully we can do it again.
Kelly: Yeah definitely.

We looked into each other's eyes and noticed that his eyes are flickering between my eyes and my lips. I noticed him leaning in and my breathing was growing rapidly. I felt his lips on mine so I kissed him back. I felt sparks, but not enough to light a flame. I unlocked the door and dragged him inside where we spent the night in each other's arms.

The next morning, we had breakfast together and he left to go back to his place. I mean last night was amazing, but it was not the same when I would sleep with Tom. You know what I'm gonna give Kelly a chance.
