The Chance of a Lifetime
A/N: I will use some 'Glee' characters names but this is not a Glee story. Enjoy.

Camila's Pov.
Hi, my name is Camila Voight and I am the daughter of the infamous Sergeant Hank Voight of the Intelligence Unit for the Chicago Police Department. I just graduated College with a degree in music. In High School, I formed a band called 'Starlite' with my best friends Sebastian Smythe on lead guitar, Jeff Sterling on bass, Nick Duval on drums, and me as the lead singer. Before my mother, Camille, died of Cancer, she said to me 'Never let anything stop you from reaching your dreams of being a rockstar' and those were the last words she said before she passed. After she passed, my brother, Justin, got sent to Prison for a year, my half-sister, Erin Lindsay, became a detective in my dad's unit, and I continued with the band and played gigs at clubs or bars.

My band, 'Starlite', is like an 80s inspired band where we do cover songs from 80s hair metal bands like Cinderella, Poison, Mötley Crüe, etc. along with doing some of our original material. We want to be the next Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

Today my dad wanted me to go to work with him to 'get me out of the house' so I took my computer and head phones to keep me entertained. My dad and the unit are working a case when I got a missed phone call from an unknown number so I typed the number into a search engine and saw that the number belongs to one of the most famous bars where all the bands play, the Rock Room, so I went to the break room next to my dad's office and closed the door and this is how the phone call went.

Phone Call: Rock Room
???: Rock Room this is Jason.
Camila: Hi, I'm returning a missed phone call from this number.
Jason: Yes, I was told that this is the number for the lead singer to the band 'Starlite', is that correct?
Camila: Yes sir it is I'm Camila Voight the lead singer for the band, what can I do for you sir?
Jason: Please call me Jason, and I am calling to offer your band a gig tomorrow night to open up for Myles Kennedy and Slash.
Camila: Holy crap!! Are you serious?
Jason: Yes ma'am I am, so what do you say?
Camila: Uhm would it be possible if we can continue this conversation through Skype with my other band members?
Jason: Yes we can.
Camila: Awesome, give me about 10-15 minutes to let me log on to Skype and let my band mates know as well to log on as well.
Jason: Perfect I'll be waiting.
End Phone Call

I am in shock as to what was happening right now I could burst into tears at any minute. I text the others to log on to Skype right now for an emergency band meeting. I turn on my computer and logged in to see everyone there so I called Jason back to let him know to log on as well. When Jason appeared on the video chat everyone was confused.

Camila: Alright, thanks for logging on at such short notice, so the reason why I called this band meeting today and why there is an extra person joining us for this meeting is for a very important announcement, take it away there Jason.
Jason: Thank you Camila, so my name is Jason Williams and I am the owner of 'The Rock Room' on S. McDowell and I am here to offer you all a gig to open up for Myles Kennedy and Slash tomorrow night at 8, half of the ticket sales and bar will go to the band, a ten song set list with a combination of cover songs and originals as well, with all drinks for the band on the house, so what do you say?
<at the mention of Slash almost everyone fell out of their seats>
Camila: It's a pretty good offer, what do you guys say?
Sebastian: I'm in.
Nick: Me too.
Jeff: Me three.
Camila: Then it's settled we would be honored to play at the Rock Room.
Jason: Perfect, I will start putting out flyers and announcements while you all discuss your set list for tomorrow, sound check will be at 3:00.
All: Thank you Jason.

Once Jason logged out of the meeting, the others stayed behind so we can discuss our set list. I took out a piece of paper and my song writing journal to see what original songs we can do. After about an hour and a half we finally got our set list decided on and will have rehearsal at 9 in the morning tomorrow and discussed our stage clothes as well.
