Draco's POV
Me and some of the other Slytherens came to the Gryffindors practice because we were bored, and I saw Potter flying and laughing with what seemed like a new player.
The way Potter looked at him, smiled at him, I hated it. No, I didn't just hate it, I despised it with every fiber of my being. No, Draco, you do not care what Potter does, or what attractive nice guys he talks to, I reminded myself, just as Harry laughed at one of the boy's jokes and my heart plummeted.
The way potter's face just lit up as he talked to this boy, how he leaned towards him when he spoke as if hanging on every word. I wished that he would look at me that way.
No, I do not! I reminded myself. I stood up suddenly to leave, and that's what I did.
I went back to the slytheren dorm and tried to convince myself that I didn't care what attractive boys Potter talked to. I decided to do my homework, but I soon gave it up.
I decided to talk to Pansy. She knew about my feelings towards Potter and always listened to my rants. I went down to the common room, immediately finding her with blaise. "Pansy...?" I asked her.
She took one look at my face and dragged me out into the corridor. "What happened?" she asked.
"I can't stop thinking about him," I groaned. "I saw him talking with a new and very attractive student and i can't keep pretending i hate him, but at the same time it's the only thing keeping me alive"
Her eyes sparkled as she gave me a small smile. "Then tell him how you feel, because if there's an attractive boy talking to him, this might be your only chance" "no pressure there" i grumbled leaning against the corridor wall. "Come on, you guys spend time together making that potion." she said.
"Oh shit, I have to go make the potion with him!" I yelled, having totally forgotten.
"Think about what I said!" Pansy called after me as I sped down the corridor to the place where Potter and I were making the potion.
Harry's POV
I was welcoming Ethan to the quidditch pitch and he was actually really nice. He was funny and outgoing, and I really liked him. He was a Gryffindor, obviously, so we could spend time together in classes and in the Gryffindor common room.
I noticed Malfoy with an angry expression on his face, but I didn't think much of it and he soon left anyway, in a huff, nonetheless. I was not looking forward to our potion brewing session today.
Ethan and I walked back to the gryffindor common room together.
"So, other than quidditch, what do you like to do?" he asked. He had a soft smooth voice that I found soothing. "Uh, I like hanging out with my friends..." I said, realizing I didn't really do anything other than quidditch.
"I mean, all I really have time for is homework, friends and quidditch.." I said. "That's cool," Ethan reassured me happily. "I like art" "oh, cool!" I exclaimed.
"Oh, we're here" I said, almost dissapointed. " well, it was really nice meeting you, I hope we can hang out some other time, i have to go meet... a classmate for an assignment." I said.
"Alright, I'll see you soon," Ethan said, his smile lighting up the whole hallway.
I walked off to where Malfoy and I were making our potion, but he wasn't there yet. My thoughts consumed me.
I realized I was attracted to Ethan, though it was too soon to tell anything real. But... What I felt for Malfoy was very painfully real as well. I should just let him go... I thought. So why couldn't i? Why couldn't I let the cold bully go for a kind and hansome new boy that I stood at least a chance with?
"I see you're eager to get started, Potter," Malfoy flashed a smug, suggestive grin. All I did was roll my eyes and grumble "let's get started" we worked in near silence with only the occasional "pass me that," or "watch it, potter!"
Draco's POV
After a while of silence, I decided to bring up the new gryffindor.
"So, there's a new one of you gryffindor's" I said. "Is he any good at quidditch?"
"Yeah, his name is Ethan, and he's really nice," Potter said casually, and then narrowed his eyes "what is it to you, anyway?" he demanded suddenly.
I felt my cheeks heat up, and I quickly- maybe too quickly- said, "nothing!" Potter tilted his head like a puppy, an adorable goddamn puppy " Wait, are you... jealous?" he asked. I immediately got defensive, "no, i am not-"
"yes you are" potter interrupted me, a childish grin spreading over his face,
Harry's POV
I felt a grin spread across my face as I realized Malfoy was jealous of me talking to a new hot boy, but then my premature happieness was shattered.
"I am not, was never and never will be fucking jealous, okay!?" malfoy exploded. "I dont fucking care what goddamn attractive boys you talk to and i am not jealous of that bitch." I felt like I had been punched in the stomach.
"And even if i was jealous, it doesn't matter anyway" Malfoy said, so soft that he must have thought i didn't hear. "Why is that?" I pushed. "Just leave it! God, you're so annoying," Malfoy growled.
"You know what's annoying?" I asked, getting angry myself, "when someone is so fucking confusing, when they are nice to you for a millisecond and then explode in your face the next!"
Suddenly, I was pushed against the wall and a pair of lips crashed roughly onto mine, leaving me absolutely shocked for a second, before pulling him coser to me and kissing back. I felt Malfoy's lips twist into a smile against mine.
All of a sudden, Malfoy pulled away, pushing me back and fleeing the classroom, leaving me shocked and confused.
