Harry's POV
It was a normal afternoon of sitting with Hermione at Ron's bedside, when she spoke to me. "Harry, you've been acting weird around Malfoy." she observed, cutting straight to the point.
I flinched slightly, hoping she hadn't noticed, but obviously, she had. "You normally would have gotten into a million more fights in the last few days." she pushed.
"Can we just not-" I was rudely interrupted by Ron. He groaned, his eyes slowly opening. "What's going on with Malfoy?" he asked groggily. "Nothing!" I said, a little too loudly. The other patients turned to look at me, most with disapproving glares. I glared right back until they all looked away muttering.
"Nothing is going on between me and Malfoy." I said, more calmly. Hermione let it go skeptically, though I knew she was going to bring it up later.
"How long was I out?" Ron cut in. "a couple of days," Hermione said. "Oh Ron-" she hugged him, Ron hugging back, looking pleased but confused at the affection he was suddenly receiving. He patted her back awkwardly, as she broke down.
"I'm happy you're up, mate, but I'm gonna go.." I said, assuming Hermione wanted some time alone with Ron. I mean, it was pretty obvious how they both felt about each other. It still didn't solve the mystery of who did it.
I sped out the door, bumping straight into Ethan, who was wearing a displeased expression. "Oh hey Ethan," I said, deciding to ignore his displeasure."
"Oh! Harry! Hey!" he said, smiling at me. I smiled, hoping the easy smile was a friendly one and not a romantic one. I hoped Ethan had moved on, because he deserves better than to be stuck on one boy out of reach.
"If you were gonna check on Ron, he's awake, but I wouldn't disturb him and Hermione right now," I said laughing.
I was heading back to the Gryffindor common room, when I realized that it was quidditch practice in a couple minutes, and I had better be down there.
I ran through the corridors to the quidditch pitch.
I just made it panting and out of breath, changing quickly into my robes that I kept down at the quidditch pitch ever since I started forgetting it and having to run back to the common room.
Then I realized it was strange for Ethan to be visiting Ron, when he was supposed to be down at the quidditch pitch getting ready.
I didn't dwell too long on it though, because I was supposed to be up in the air looking for a certain snitch.
It was wonderful to fly through the air again. I had been stuck inside with Hermione for the last few days, and I didn't realize how trapped I felt until I was outside flying again.
***
I walked inside after practice, sweaty and tired. All I wanted to do was have a shower and flop into bed. And that was exactly what I was planning to do. There was an upcoming match with the Ravenclaws, and I didn't intend to lose that, so the team was out late practicing.
Unfortunately, fate had other things planned. "Hey, potter." came a familiar voice.
"What is it Draco?" my tone coming out more annoyed than it was supposed to.
"What, you don't want to see your boyfriend?" he said, playfully hurt.
"Nope, I'm just exhausted." I said, still annoyed, though I felt bad now. Damn those puppy eyes Malfoy was giving me.
"We still need to work on our potion, you know," he said. "Alright, lemme have a shower, and then I'll meet you there." I said.
Draco's POV
"Alright, lemme have a shower and I'll meet you there." Harry said. He had been so annoyed by that interaction.
Was it me that had caused the annoyance? Why, though? What did I do? Anxiety rushed at me again as he walked off. Did I do something?
I waited at our usual meeting spot, and, to my relief, he showed up almost immediately.
His hair was still slightly wet, and really messy. It was adorable, and made me want to run my fingers through it.
He leaned forward to kiss me, and I stiffened at the immediate affection. He pulled away and sat down next to me, seemingly unaware of the pink slowly covering my cheeks.
It wasn't like he hadn't done this before, but just the simple hello kiss, for some reason, just affected me more than usual. Maybe it was because of the insecurity looming over my mind.
"What are we doing today?" he asked, slowly tangling his fingers with mine under the table.
"Just the usual" I said, trying to be as casual as he was being. "We just have to put ingredients and stir it a bunch." I looked at the potion book, asking Harry to grab some of the ingredients.
He did, mostly in silence, perhaps comfortable to him, but for me it seemed like it stretched unbearably long.
Finally, we had done what we needed to for the night.
"Alright, I think we're finished for the night," I said, smiling softly at harry. He pulled me down for a kiss, though just as he was about to pull back, I pulled him closer.
He ran his tongue over my lips, and I opened my mouth, though I won the battle for dominance immediately, and my tongue explored his mouth.
My hands found their way into his hair, and I ran my fingers through it, tugging softly, and causing him to groan.
I saw his face go pink, and smirked against his lips, before moving to his jaw. My lips fluttered along it, before moving to his neck. He groaned again, seemingly trying to muffle it, though not doing a good job.
And it was also, probably unwittingly, a challenge for me.
Harry's POV
Draco's lips made their way down my neck, and he paused, sucking at the base of my neck. "Draco..." I said, not sure why, or what I wanted. "Yes, harry?" he whispered against my neck.
I growled and brought my lips to his again, not wanting to answer a question I had never intended to ask.
He pulled away, smirking. "I'll see you later, harry." and that bitch walked away.
Sorry in advance for the long authors note, y'all.
Okay, well... that happened. Malfoy is such a bitch sometimes tho. I realize I'm talking about a book I'M writing, so theoretically I can do whatever I want, but to me it seems like sometimes characters do whatever they want, instaid of what the author wants, you know? or is it just me? anyway, thanks for reading. Honestly, I'm really glad I did more then 500 words this time, even if this chapter, I'm gonna be honest, was kinda a filler. the next chapter is a little bit important, *cough cough* a lot important, nope, I didn't say anything. Anyway, I didn't want it to come right after the chapter before this one. If your still reading, thanks for reading this chapter, and vote and comment if you liked this chapter, and what do you thinks gonna happen in the next chapter? love y'all so much, and have an amazing day!
