Chapter 6~ Another Day Another Fight (week 6)

"I can't believe it! He came back?! That pompous-" I seethed.

"-Spoiled rotten good for nothing bastard," Jason seethed alongside me. We watched as he approached his 'friends' with his servant carrying all his items into his assigned cabin. His friends came running out, of course a couple bruised and beaten. From what we could make out his friends were being quite dramatic and so was he, seeing as he was cursing and foaming at the mouth. In our new found openness, Jason and I emerged from our cabin and watched smugly as they cursed us with petty insults and empty threats. By some miracle or other, they looked in our direction and looked us in our eyes, shining with a murderous glint. Jason didn't cover his face anymore and held my hand confidently as we approached the group, myself with a poisonous smile and Jason with a wicked grin.

"It seems our favorite meat head is back~" I sang with as much venomous sarcasm as the universe would grant me. Which was a lot. "Heard you cursing us~ Big words from a little turd, hmm~"

"Yeah! Well bold words from a fag and your ugly boyfriend!" Mikey retorted, lacking in the confidence he first held.

"Wow. That was sad-" I frowned disappointedly, shaking my head at his weak comeback.

"Well so is calling me a turd!" Mikey shouted back, his face flushed with embarrassment and anger at his admittance.

"Well that's what you are rich boy," I shrugged. "A shiny piece of shit is still shit."

"Pfft! Hahaha! Oh my God!" Sanghee laughed audibly as he walked out of his cabin with his friends. They were laughing and booing Mikey.

"Shut up suicide squad!" Mikey shrieked in frustration.

"Just because we are emo doesn't mean we're suicidal we just hate societal norms... Too complicated for your brain?" One of Sanghee's friends explained but stopped when he saw the confused looks Mikey and his friends held.

"Wha-?!" Mikey started.

"To put it simply. Eat the rich!" Sanghee cheered along with his friends and some of the other kids who were clearly sick and tired of Mikey and his posse treatment of the 'non-cool' kids. I laughed and cheered along with Sanghee and the large group that formed to protest the unfair treatment. Although Jason and I stood tall amongst the crowd of middle schoolers we enjoyed the energy they gave off in their frantic youth.

"I'll get you all! Just wait!" Mikey screeched as he and his posse ran off into the woods to regroup and discuss their pathetic bullying tactics.

"Well that was fun!" I cheered, clapping my hands in enjoyment.

"What are you guys doing today?" Sanghee asked, emerging from his group and standing at my side. The rest of the kids watched with stars in their eyes, observing Jason and I closely. We stood uncomfortably amongst the crowd, looking at each other before I answered.

"Nothing much. I guess go on a walk?" I answered nervously. I could tell Jason was getting fidgety around the group and wanted to hide but he did well at my side and kept his eyes glued to my face or the ground.

"Cool cool. Want to go play boards games in the main hall? Everyone wants to get to know you two better... We're all feeling guilty from how we initially reacted. We know what it's like to be judged for not fitting in," Sanghee offered, his voice becoming quieter as he continued on. Jason and I looked back to the group who were nervously smiling at us.

"Jason?" I asked, I wanted to make sure he was comfortable with it first before I answered them. As happy as I was that we made progress amongst the campers I didn't want him to be anxious the whole time.
