Author's note: Sorry for the late update. I've been overwhelmed with the stuff happening in the world and some other business but I'll do my best to up date this story! It's my personal favorite as well. Hopefully it doesn't feel too rushed. This chapter is a little shorter than the others.

Chapter 7~ Sickly Altercation (week 7)

The morning light trickled into the cabin, the soft white light making me blink my eyes open. I found myself laying in the arms of Jason who sat criss-crossed against the wall, his head slumped and soft snores filled the quiet room. I curled into his chest, rubbing my face into his jacket and taking a deep relaxing breath. His scent always made me feel better, the smell of pine and apple pie.

"Mmm? Are you feeling better love," Jason hummed, his voice deep and groggy from sleep. I smiled in his chest but shook my head no. My fever went down but I still felt achy and warm.

"Hurts," I mumbled.

"What hurts my love? I can find the right herbs if you tell me," Jason whispered huskily, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me close to his body.

"Everywhere, head worst," I groaned feebly.

"Body aches and a headache. I'll have mom make something for that," Jason yawned, releasing me from his embrace as he stretched his arms and cracked his neck with a heavy sigh afterwards. I looked up at him from his chest with a pout, latching onto his shirt like a baby sloth. He gave me a soft chuckle but hugged me back.

"Come now love. You should take your medicine and wash up, I'll be with you until you feel better," Jason chuckled kindly.

"Mmk," I hummed in agreement. The sweat from my fever made my clothes stick to me and I felt rather gross and smelly. Jason descended the ladder first, softly urging me to crawl towards him. With what little strength I had, I managed to make it to the ladder and safely into his arms. With careful tugging, he pulled me into his chest as if I was a porcelain doll and scurried around the room for an extra change of clothes. A hoodie, his of course, some underwear, sweatpants and socks made up my outfit for the day. With grim determination we made our way out the cabin and straight towards the shower.

It was a quick shower. Considering I barely had the strength to stand for too long, the hot water was comforting and healing. I sighed in content, a little dizzy but feeling much better now that I was clean. Jason turned the water off and wrapped me in a big fuzzy towel, tending to me before he dried himself off and got dressed. Jason picked me up and made his way back to the cabin. Upon entering we were greeted by Pam who placed a bowl of chicken noodle soup on my desk and some medicine with water.

"Good morning, my boys. How are you feeling?" Pam greeted softly.

"Morning mom. Better now that I'm clean," I coughed out.

"That's good but lets get some warm food in you," Pam hummed, she petted my head and kissed my forehead as Jason sat me down in the chair to eat.

"Thank you," I sniffled, a tired smile on my face.

"Anytime sweetie. Jason will come get me if you need anything else. Get some sleep after, it's the best medicine," Pam cooed, before heading out the door. Jason locked it behind her and returned to my side. He picked up the spoon and began to blow on the hot soup before feeding it to me. I giggled out of embarrassment.

"Jason?" I grinned.

"Yes love?" Jason hummed, as he placed a spoonful of soup in my mouth.

"I can feed myself," I chuckled after swallowing.

"Nonsense. When will I get the chance to do so again," Jason grinned as he continued to blow on the soup and feed me one spoonful at a time.

"You're so silly," I giggled but relented in his protectiveness. It felt nice having someone taking care of me, even if it was a little much. I couldn't help but wish I would get better soon though. Can't have a little funtime when keeping my eyelids open was exhausting. When the meal was finished and the medicine downed, Jason placed me back in bed.
