━━━ "WHAT HAPPENS WHEN HE GETS OUT?" I questioned the man over the phone. I remember feeling a slight amount of concern for Damon, concern that I came to regret. Concern that I still regret to this day. "And does it have to be 50 years? I mean I know I'm a dead-semi-living-corporeal being but I don't know if the package comes with immortality."

Stefan sighed at me, and I knew he was slightly annoyed by my questioning. Damon and I weren't close, not at that point, and my persistence had him intrigued.

Sammy was still at Sheila's. The older witch had been all too happy to accommodate him whilst I had been running around dealing with the supernatural. She had always been like that, one of the kindest souls I had ever met.

It had been three days since Damon Salvatore had seen daylight.

"Yes, at least until Elena has lived out her human life," Stefan reasoned.
