ISA SAT ON the chair across of two men with suits on. they one on the left passed her a lukewarm glass of water. she didn't know their names. she didn't want to know their names. all she wanted to was be at home in her bed. her warm, comfortable bed with her thick blankets and fluffy pillows that made her feel at peace.

her skin was beyond sunburnt and was peeling. her hair was in a messy bun and her knees were pulled up to her chest. she just wanted to see him. she doesn't know how long she'd been in her room. she felt like she was trapped in a prison cell. her bed had a thin sheet and one small pillow. the room was big, but she felt so trapped.

she took a small sip of the warm water and the men started to question her. "hello, isabelle. is it okay if we ask you some questions?" the man with the glasses asked. she slowly looked up at the two men in front of her. she nodded her head for him to start.

"do you know why you're here?"

"i was left on a fucking deserted island with boys."

"okay...what do you remember from the flight?"

"i was supposed to go on plane with girls. there was no space, so they told me that i'd board the boys plane a couple days later than the original day the girls flew out." she said as they nodded.

"can you tell us what happened on the first day?"

"i remember wanting to be in hawaii. wishing we would have made it through the whole flight. i wanted to be with the girls i was supposed to be on the retreat with, but there i was, stuck on an island with a bunch of boys." isa said looking at the table. "i've watched all of those stranded on an island movies before, but i didn't think itwould've happened to me, not in a million of years."

day one

isa opened her eyes to see the blue sky and white clouds above her. she breathed heavily from her long swim to shore. she thought she was in some type of dream or she was in heaven or something. she was laying on a warm patch of sand on a beach. the waves were beautiful and the ocean was the perfect blue color. then she remembered how she got here.

she quickly stood up and saw her suitcase a couple feet away from her. it was on top of a black rock. she grabbed it and sighed in relief that some things were kind of dry. she saw the boys spread of on a section of the beach. she joined the boys that were sitting on the rocks. the watched a boy pace around in the sand.

"good one, mother. great idea. how about—how about we ship me off to some wilderness fucking circle jerk? "maybe it'll be fun," she said. yeah, "maybe you'll learn something." okay, sure. maybe i'll learn what it's like to almost basically drown. maybe i'll learn what it's like to get a metric shit-ton of water up my fucking nose! or maybe i'll learn what it's like to absolutely and extremely hate you, you fucking dick-tit!"

the boy kicked rock and shouted in pain "oh! geez, fuck!"

one boy started to laugh. she recognized him as scotty. "i'm sorry. i just—i just—i can't pretend that that shit wasn't funny. "dick tit!" ughh!" the boy continued to laugh. he made the other laugh, but it soon died down.

"why couldn't i have just been on the girls plane?" isa mumbled.

"hey, i'm ivan. i didn't get to introduce myself on the plane, but considering—this i thought i should just start now." the boy said. "i'm isa."

"why are you doing that?" kirin asked. isa knew his name because she heard him introduce himself to one of the boys. "doing what?" josh asked.

"crying" he responded.

"it's fine, actually. it's healthy, really." the boy said looking down "and i think it should be more normalized as a behavior."

"jesus fucking christ. who came with this kid?" raf, the boy with a blue shirt and a striped button up top raised his hand. "is he always like this?" kirin asked and the boy slowly lowered his hand. "i—i don't really know." raf answered.

"we're in different friends groups. hi rafe." josh shyly waved at the boy. kirin rolled his eyes "whatever. look, we've been sitting on our asses for too long. let's quit fucking crying and do something." he said.

"uh, hey, man. w—what's your name, again?" seth, the boy in the green shirt said with his glasses hung on the neckline of his shirt. "he'll tell you it's kirin, but we all know he's a natural-born chad." ivan said looking up at kirin.

"don't start, taylor. don't even start."

"okay, uh, some history there. uh look, kirin, why don't we just let josh be josh for a sec? we've all been dropped into this, like, live-action fever dream. we should probably normalize having any reaction that we want. like, if you wanna call your mom a dick-tit, then go for it." seth said pointing over to dj.

"i did need to. she fucking sucks." dj said.

"god, dammit people. can we please stop talking and just move?" kirin asked.

"and go where?" henry asked.

"to go look for shit! deserted islands don't even exist. we fuckin' found 'em all!"

"see that's true! all these islands been snapped up by rich dudes with, like, illuminati money." scott said. "all right everybody up!" kirin shouted and henry immediately stood up. "why did i just do what he told me to do?" henry asked himself.

"it's that captain daddy voice. you just can fight it. i mean look at me i've loathed him since middle school, and my ass got up." ivan looked down to see isa still sitting on the rock "or maybe you can fight it."

"look, obviously rescue is coming, but if there's some sick hotel around the corner and we're too lazy to go find it, we're gonna feel like total ducks. so i think we split up, head into separate directions. just send someone back when you find something. everyone from here over you're one group. i mean—i mean from here over." kirin made henry go on his side.

kirin saw the girl sitting down completely unfazed by his "captain daddy voice" ivan said he had. "you." kirin pointed at isa and she looked up. "yes, you. you're with them and the others are with me. get up—." he said to the girl offering his hand, but she pushed it aside and stood up by herself. "its isa."

"pretty name." he said and walked away with his group.

"it's still happening it's like a tractor beam." henry said as they followed kirin.
