Chapter 10: Night Terrors

Valentina POV
10:07 pm
"Are you sure" Madeline asked throwing me the keys.

"I told you it was fine, just look after you're Mom okay?... plus there's this cute guy upstairs i think he kinda likes me so i'll be okay."

"Oh No" She replies walking over to me putting her hand on my shoulder

"I've heard this before love." she says patronizingly giving me a sheepish smile

"You think he's cute, he likes you and you like him and you do nothing about it."

"Thats not true" i shouted standing up rapidly knocking her hand of my shoulder

"Shhh.....your on night shift, people are sleeping." She giggled putting her phone into her purse

"Any way, your to shy Vee you need to live life have some fun." she continued dancing around the reception

"I do have fun!" i argued laughing at Madeline's dancing

"No honey you stay up all night finishing uni work and drowning in your tears with a tub of Ben and Jerry's watching the same old boring pointless love movies where the guy dies and the girl lives all alone and couldn't POSSIBLY love another guy the way she loved Fred" she gasped for breath

"Fred?? But anyway I like it like that, besides you are the person that got me into that." i smirked crossing my arms

She stared at the wall for a few seconds with embarrassment while i just laughed

"Yeah but then i met Harry, i was your age Vee and if i hadn't of called him we wouldn't be where we are now" she held up her ring finger and pointed to her £2000 engagement ring with the diamond the size of mount Everest.

"2 years later i got this baby!" she smirked

"And a year ago you got that baby" i laughed pointing her son Kai.

Harry walked through the door and I ran over a took Kai out of Harry's hands.

"Hows my big boy." i said throwing my godson in the air making funny noises. I was actually shocked he was awake at this time.

Harry laughed and kissed me on my cheek

"Hey Vee...I would love to stay but we gotta go see Mad's Mom."

"Okay" i pouted handing Kai back to harry.

Harry and Mad where so well suited. Harry was mixed with short curly hair and dark blue eyes with faint dimples and Mad was Spanish with waste long dirty blonde wavy hair and green eyes and cute freckles. Now Kai he was just adorable he had blonde curly hair with greeny bluey eyes and little freckles over his nose.

"See you sweetie" She said giving me a big hug

"Have fun with..err.."

"James" i laughed as she walked out the door

"Oh..there you go." a man said catching Madd as she tripped on the curb, I tried to make out who it was.

"James" i shouted waving as James lifted Madd back up and smiled.

"Nice" Madd mouthed as she gave me thumbs up and winked at James getting into her car.

I just giggled to myself and walked over to James and his brother.

"You must be Valentina." The blonde said to me and he showed his cute little dimples

"I'm Joe." He said reaching out his hand and with no hesitation I shook it.

"I heard a lot about you" he smirked flicking James' head

After coming back to reality i said

"Nice..to meet you."

I noticed how pale they both looked. James never looked this ill this morning.

"Are you okay? you guys look a little pale."

"Em.. a cold." James said smiling

"I would give you a hug but i don't want that pretty little face to be full of cold, now do I." He smiled looking down

"Smooth." Joe laughed sitting down on the chair. He looked a little in pain.

"Are you sure your okay, Joe? i can get you some paracetamol from the cabinet." i said tucking my hair over my ear.

"That's kind but its just an old back injury, it sometimes flares up when i get a...um..a cold." he smiled.

"Its been really great seeing you again but we have to get some rest." James said winking at me walking towards the lift with his brother.

Come on do it..ask him for dinner sometime i thought to myself. Come on Vee.

"Em...James." i said as he turned around and smiled at me

"Err...em...do...just get well soon." i waved as he smiled again and stepped into the lift.

I made sure they where gone and i slumped into my chair and buried my head in my hands and sighed.

"Well that went well." I said to myself.

I sat in silence for a while, just thinking. I twirled my hair around my finger, watching the clock tick and tick and tick. I pulled out my Uni work from my bag in the corner. I'm taking art, iv'e always loved the peace it brings me. I sat and finished some drawings for an hour or two.

I felt my heavy eyes droop, i quickly snapped my head up but i felt the sleep over take me. My head snapped up again at the sound of the door swinging open. I rubbed my eyes

"Hello welcome to to the Primrose Garden Hotel how may I...."

I looked up seeing a man in front of me...a long tall man with a black matt coat on zipped to his neck, on his face was a mask. A foxes mask. The face slowly danced around my eyes as his cackle pieced my ear drum. The foxes face scarred my mind instantly as I took a step back. His hood was covering his head. His arm slowly and carefully raised towards the desk and in his hand was a gun.

My sweaty palms covered my mouth as i let out a quiet yelp as the tears cut through my eyes and escaped, pouring down my cheeks.

"Shhh.." He said stroking my hair, his voice raspy and muffled.

I slowly removed my hand, as it shook like the quakes of the earth. I let out a little whimper and closed my eyes.

"What do you want" I Whisperd as the tears flowed into my mouth and my mind span.

"You know what I want." He growled

"Please please." I choked out my eyes burning from the tears

"I don't know what you mean." I continued as my knees trembled.

"YOU DO!" He screamed shoving the gun at my face

I squealed and jumped as my stomach churned.

My stomach twisted, and i held my abdomen with my hand. I leaned forward as I violently vomited onto the floor in shock and fright. I wiped my mouth with my sleeve. My legs couldn't take my weight anymore.

"Now tell me." He ordered grabbing my arm as I tasted the vile taste in my mouth.

"Where is Safe 23?"
