"Come on Roxy!" Sapphire hollers up the stairs.

"I'm coming! I'm coming!" I call back. "Geez..."

We were getting ready to head out and get our prom outfits. Bloody waste of time if you ask me.

I walk down the stairs, throwing my jacket on as I do. "Its about time!"

"Pipe down, O'Donovan. I couldn't find my shoes." I tell him, wiggling my feet, showing him my red converse.

"You have like five different pairs of them. How hard could it be?" He asks.

"I have like three and there different colours." I roll my eyes.

"Whatever princess, let's just get going." He holds his hand out to me which I accept.

"I still don't see why I can't just wear jeans and a t-shirt to this thing." I complain.

"Cos its not allowed. You'll get kicked out." Sapphire informs me.

"Formal wear only." Tracy adds.

"Stupid prom..." I mutter, waltzing out the house.

"What about this one?" Sapphire asks, holding up a very pink dress.

"Did you hit your head this morning or something? Or are you just colour blind?" I retort.

She simply shakes her head and puts the dress back. Tracy holds up a purple dress, "This?"

"Absolutely not." I shake my head.

Tracy rolls her eyes, "Come on! You've said no to every dress we've offered."

"Oh, what a shame!" I exclaim sarcastically. "Guess that means, no prom for me."

"Oh shush!" Sapphire puts her head in her hands.

Her head whips up to look at me, a look of realisation on her face. "I know! You go into that changing room and try on every dress we suggest and we'll be the judge."

"N-"

Tracy cuts me off, "We won't take no for an answer."

"Fine." I concede.

"Yay!"

After trying on like half the shop, I try on the last dress. Its a simple pastel blue dress, that is straight down, with small beading at the centre.

I walk out and a look of astonishment is on their faces. "Wow!"

"What? Is it on wrong or something?" I ask worriedly.

"No, you look great." Sapphire compliments.

"Its just a dress." I wave off.

"Its a beautiful dress." Tracy corrects.
