Only an hour or two after speaking to the strangers and Patrick was already inside the biker's auto shop.
He stood before a crowd of people, hungry for any sign of direction. They looked to Patrick as if he had all the answers.
Even though the nerves shot through his body like running water, he kept his mental balance and managed to speak.
"His name was Dylan, he was seventeen, a kid... and they killed him. They killed him in cold blood, without reason. Without hesitation! Now I don't know about you, but I'd hate for a person like that to take control,"
Patrick observed the tired faces, lots were silently nodding in agreement,
"y'know, when... when I first learned that my... my girlfriend died, I was a mess, I was broken, I begged, I pleaded, and I got no answer. I'm sure that many, if not all of you have experienced the same."
Even the strongest, most fierce-looking men and women in the room nodded along. Everyone had a piece of themselves taken when the dead had risen, and Patrick realised that more and more as he spoke.
"What I'm going to ask of you may seem awful, and honestly, I hate that I'm even thinking of this, but it seems like we're out of options. I'm asking that you fight with us because sooner or later they're gonna come for you. I know it's a lot to ask, but I've seen you compared to them and quite honestly, some of you scared the shit out of me when we first met."
He saw smiles develop amongst the crowd, including Diana, who leaned against a wall with her arms crossed.
He stopped speaking, he didn't know what to say next.
"Let's finish these bastards"
The prideful voice of an elderly woman surprised Patrick, though he greeted it with a hearty smile and watched as everyone agreed.
He looked up from the crowd, seeing Frank in the corner, standing firm on the ground. With a fierce look in his eyes, he gave Patrick a quick nod, and Patrick did the same.
