Chapter 2

(🔺️There will be mention of an ED and there will be a warning before it is written)

After the mile of walking it took to get to Zoey's house, the brunette and orange head got settled in Zoey's room.
"Is Elmo ever going to hang out with us?" the boy asked.
"You're not still thinking about that, are you," replied a slightly annoyed woman.

It seemed every moment Zoey and Rocco got to talk, Elmo was brought up in conversation. It became a habit of Rocco to ask how the redhead was doing. It's not like the boy can ask himself.

"Is it so wrong to want him to not hate me."
"Look Rocco, I don't know what happened to make him avoid you, but we can't keep having this same conversation."
"Well, I'm trying. I don't see you trying to make anything different."
"Nobody wants to hear my evil plans and you know it!"
"P l e a s e ! Use one of your murder plots or something. It seems we are going to see each other a lot more this year."
"Did you transfer class again!?"

It was no secret that Rocco had a few ghost of his past lurking around school but that's besides  the point.

The two friends spent the rest of the night trying to make sence of Zoey's "wonderful" ideas. No matter what happened some sort of property damage would occur. After hours, they decided on the plan with the least amount of destruction.  As long as Elmo will finally talk to Rocco again.

A whole week had come and gone. Zoey said they should wait for the right time. It was the second Wednesday of the school year. Everything was in place.

Orchestra had been what Elmo started his day with. It was rather odd, but a good wake up call. Elmo went to grab his cello. He wasn't prepared for the pile of stained wood and steel strings in its place.

*Zoey didn't actually create hundreds of dollars in damage. The real cello was in the storage closet (like half of the football team). The chaotic woman just busted up some old boards with her bare hands*

Miss Frizzle had walked in from a meeting in the teachers' lounge.
"I'm already over this shit! Today, everybody can just do homework," voiced the lady in an already crooked yet funky dress.

Elmo walked out of the classroom to study in the hallway. Benefits of being a senior. He found a quiet spot and sat down with a plop. Only a few days in, and he couldn't understand trigonometry.

"Hello Elmo!"
"Aaaahhhh! Zoey, please stop scaring Elmo!"
Out of nowhere Zoey and Rocco had appeared in front of Elmo.
"Well, I have a G.I. this hour and Rocco is also out from orchestra, so mind if we study together?"
Giving up a "Sure, why not," slipped out of Elmo's mouth.
The god of Chaos shoved her friend to the floor right next to Elmo, and sat on the other side of him. The ginger continued with his work as the others stared in awkward silence.

"Don't you guys have any homework to do?  Elmo doesn't like this quiet."
"Zoey has homework she should be doing, but I have none."
"Hey Rocco! You could help Elmo with trig. while I go and get my work," she left with a wink.

Seeing a frustrated Elmo, Rocco began to worry for his old friend.
"If you don't understand the work, I can always help you Elmo."
"You don't have to, Elmo will just turn it in tomorrow."

Five minutes later, there was still no Zoey. Rocco finally spoke, "I don't think she's coming back."
"That's Zoey and there's nothing that could stop her."

"So Elmo, what have you been up to?"
Elmo sighed,"Rocco, Elmo doesn't want to talk."
"Well, I just wanna-"
"Shhhhh, Rocks don't talk."
"Well, Zoey didn't actually break your cello!"
With that statement, Rocco silently walked out to find Zoey, leaving the red fuzz ball stunned.

At Zoey's house that afternoon.
"Zoey, your plan failed."
"We made that plan together, so don't blame me."
They sat there in silence for a while. The white noise of the T.V. drowned out the silence.

"HEY YOU GUYS!!" Zoey's father burst in the foyer.
"Hey dad! Rocco is over right now!!"
"I'm so glad you finally are hanging out with a boy.
Welp, I'm going to go work on the jetski in the garage, you two keep the door open, ya hear?!"
"You got it dad."
He took a flashlight and a few beers then ventured out to the garage

"Your dad does know I'm gay, right?"
"I tell him. He just doesn't listen."
One minute passed, then two. Until three minutes pass, just sitting there thinking.

🔺️Trigger Warning: ED🔻
"... I should start dressing like how I did freshmen year."
Zoey scoffed, "You mean when you would make yourself so sick just to fit into jeans from 3rd grade?" raising one eyebrow.
"You have to admit, those were a really cute pair of pants."
"Yeah, really went with that color of vomit.
Don't do it. I mean it. Aren't you happy with how you are now?"
"I am. I truly am, but I want to be seen this year, and no one is looking."
🔺️All safe!🔻

The tangerine girl dramatically bursted out, "Oh! I'm Rocco! A victim of CRUSH CULTURE!!!"
She flung herself over Rocco's lap. Rocco could barely reply over his laughter.
"It's not my fault you had a crush on Grover for the longest time! Plus when Elmo was dating Abby."
"Hey, I forgot about that! Elmo was soooo smitten over her, then she moved on to fairy college."
"Remember how much ice cream we bought him," Rocco cracked a smile,"He needed it."
"He really did."

Rocco caught his breath from yelling and laughing, "What were we talking about before?"
"Absolutely nothing," Zoey said, knowing her friend is all safe.
But they just need a different plan.
