"Hi!"

It was morning and that day Jeno woke up a bit later. He got up from his bed and made his way to the window. He looked out and surprisingly saw Hanbyeol. She was having breakfast with her dad in the garden and they seemed very happy. That just made him want to greet her.

"Oh, hi Jeno." She waved at him a bit shyly, as her dad watched their interaction with a stunned look.

"How are you?"

"I'm good. You?"

"I'm good if you are."

Hanbyeol just laughed at his words. At the time, she thought he was being silly, but growing up she would find out how actually meaningful those words were.

They smiled, but sadly Jeno had to get ready since he was already late. He really just wanted to enjoy the morning as Hanbyeol and her dad were doing.

"Bye, Hanbyeol! Goodbye, sir!"

And with that he closed the window to dress up.

As he had previously sensed, he was late, but very late. As he arrived at school with his dad scolding him, he found out that classes had already begun. He got scolded by the teacher too for being very late, telling him how he was irresponsible and impolite, and after 10 minutes he finally got to sit next to his best friend.

It wasn't until the first break that Jeno could talk to him. He always have been the one that got to keep the conversation on between the two of them, and in most times Jaemin would listen in a passive way, by just adding some words from time to time. But that day, oh gosh... He got very excited.

"Wait... You're telling me you actually got a girlfriend?!"

"S-she's not my girlfriend!" He countered, while being taken aback by the image of Hanbyeol as his girlfriend.

"But she's gonna be soon! There's love in the air!"

They now got all the attention of the class, but the only one being bothered was Jeno. Jaemin was too busy screaming of how of an amazing couple they would have been.

"Please, Jaemin! Lower your voice!" He whispered-shouted while feeling uncomfortable with all the stares. "Bestie, you better make me your best man at the wedding, or I'm gonna be very mad!"

Luckily for him, the bell rang again, ending the break and classes started again. He spent the remaining hours trying to pay attention to the teachers, although Jaemin's words and Hanbyeol's image wouldn't leave his mind. Did he really like her, or Jaemin was overly excited? How could he call her, now that she was causing a warm emotion in his chest?

"Jeno, she really is your little crush." Jaemin said during the lunch break, smirking at the other kid. "What does it mean?" Jeno asked confused, raising an eyebrow.

"That she makes you feel good, and that you want her to be good. She's now your stargirl."

"Stargirl...?"

"Yeah, didn't you tell me she's into astronomy?"

Jeno didn't answer, because his mind was somewhere else, in the lands of first love's feelings. Stargirl... He liked that word, nearly as much as he liked Hanbyeol.

The school day continued through the afternoon, in which the kids went out in the school garden playing and screaming with each other. Although Jeno was a spry and energic kid, that day he decided to be with Jaemin as he read sitting under a tree.

"Hey, Jeno."

A girl, Jeon Miyeon, one of the cutest in their class, who always wore the prettiest and most expensive clothes, came up to them.

"Do you want to be my boyfriend?" She asked with a shy smile, her hands tied together behind her back. Jeno watched her stunned, as he had never been asked by a girl and always been rejected.

"I'm sorry, Jeon Miyeon, but Jeno has another girl." Jaemin said with a sly smile as his friend panicked. "Who's that? I bet she's not nearly as pretty as me."

"Jeno likes only the best of the best, and Hanbyeol is one of the best girls in this world. Maybe that's why he doesn't like you."

"Hey!" Miyeon exlaimed, now red with anger, and strided away in the verge of tears.

"Jaemin, that was really mean..." Jeno said when the little girl were nearing the teachers. "That's what she deserves. And the teachers will never punish us for a rejection."

The boy turned to his friend and smiled with his eyes. "Thank you, Jaemin. I think I really like Hanbyeol, after all."

"I know you do. It's really obvious."

And with those caring words, their school day ended.
