  (Setting: Guest bedroom)

Cross drank the golden tea, the golden liquid swirled. Cross was staring at the golden petals at the bottom of the cup. He frowned, He didn't like the bitterness...
"I am truly sorry," The old man spoke after looking at Cross's face, which clearly showed his dissatisfaction, "I steeped the tea for too long so the tea turned bitter."
"No, it's alright." Cross just accepted it, besides it would be rude for him to be anything but grateful since the man saved him.
There was then another long period of silence. Both the creatures do not know what to say. It was, quite, erm...awkward...Cross continued to sip on his tea.
Earlier, when Cross looked out the window to check his surroundings, he saw a small grass land. The prairies it self was very plain. It was covered by many wild flowers. But what was beyond the grass lands were the beautiful parts. Cross saw large snowy mountains and small hills. He couldn't see anymore after that. But Cross was amazed at the view. Then the old man came back in, so Cross sat down on the grass bed. The old man, sat in a rocking  chair next to the bed.
Cross quietly drank the liquid, and the old man seemed to be deciding what to do next.
"Well...since you will be staying here for a while, I'll introduce myself!" The old goat man  spoke suddenly, "I'm Asgore."
"Ah...well...hello then...Mister Asgore.." Cross said sheepishly.
"Perhaps we should give you a name...for now," Asgore suggested "maybe you can base it on your jacket!"
Cross looked at the jacket at the side of the bed and shivered at the thought of the name 'X'
  "Hmm...what about 'X'!?" Asgore smiled
  "Please anything but that..."
"Ah...Criss-Cross? Chrissy? Cross?" Asgore started to ramble, "Cross walk? Wally? Walky crossy? Rissy? Russ? Brussel? Brush? Paint? Ink? Or maybe something like uh Nas! Golly so much possibilities!"
Cross thought about it. He thought about it real good. What should he be called...? This was quite fun. He liked the name 'Cross' that Asgore mentioned near the start of his ramble but he was just unsure, "I kind of like the name Cross" Cross quickly interrupted Asgore, when the giant goat man was still in the middle of his rambling.
"Oh that's wonderful! You can always change your name if you start to dislike it but for now you can be cross. Let's start over with introductions now you have your name! I'm Asgore Dreemurr!" Asgore beamed and pushed toward his hand for a handshake.
"Well, uh I'm Cross then. Mr. Dreemurr" Cross places down his tea cup on a nearby night stand and reached out his small skeleton hand and the two exchanged a simple awkward handshake.
Asgore stands suddenly and asked, "would you like some honey-berry pie? I made it myself and with fruit from my own fruit bushes!"
"I would love too," Cross stands up and picks up the empty tea cup on the nightstand.
The two walks through Asgore's hallway as Asgore showed Cross some cool things.
Asgore showed Cross a painting that he, did himself. It was of the great green grassland just outside of the house. It looked amazing. Even if the prairie was very simple.
Then Asgore led Cross to the kitchen. In a small fireplace there was a caldron and it was covered with a lid. Asgore opened the caldron cautiously and took the pie out with a long stick pincher thing and place the pie on the table, Asgore then turned to a cabinet. Cross just stood there, at the doorframe, just watching. 👁0👁
"Come sit down, Cross" Asgore laughed nervously as he looked over his shoulder at Cross...
Slowly Cross walks over to a small brownish table and sits down and Asgore places one purple slice of a 'honeyberry' pie in front of him and another plate is placed at the other end of the table

Cross takes a small bite the pie was really really tart, even bitter too. Cross quickly swallowed it and quivered from the sourness of the pie filling inside.
"Guess i picked the berries too early" Asgore said, embarrassed, "though I never made good pies anyways" ( 😅)
"It's alright," Cross answered. He slowly finished his slice as did Asgore.
"Well since you'll be staying here a while why don't you come outside with me, I can show you my garden. I'm sure you'll like it. It is very peaceful there."
"Ah...alright then" Cross didn't have anything to lose, if he were to stay here...maybe he could make himself useful by helping Asgore with some small tasks!
Asgore then led Cross to a small door in the hallway to the outside world.

(Setting: Garden)

There were small fruit trees scattered everywhere, with fruits that were not quite ready for picking, shrubs and bushes and many small batches of colorful bright flowers. In the distance there were small parts where it seems like corn was grown and hay. There were scattered farm land across the prairie but Asgore explained that they were all owned by himself. Asgore explained how plants and crop were grown and eventually lead to fruit or vegetables for organism to eat and thrive. Cross's eyes slightly sparkled, he loved the plants, the color, the smell of the dirt, how the fruits would come from a giant tree which came from a tiny little seed was fascinating. Cross loved gardening, he knew it right there, at least the thought of it for now. He thought maybe he worked with plants a lot in his previous life before he ended up with Mr Asgore. He didn't know. But right now it was just him, Mr Asgore, and the plants. And it was pleasant.
"...I like this," Cross said relaxing.
"If you like this now just wait until you smell fresh rain with the smell of nice wet soil" Asgore smiled, "if it rained of course, over the time you stay here."
"Rain...is it nice?" Cross remembers a little about rain but not much. Maybe Cross didn't care enough about the rain before. Maybe that's why he doesn't remember.
"Ah yes, it is very nice. Actually it was raining on the day you fell into my fruit trees," Asgore explained "Good thing you fell into a tree, the tree helped reduce the impact of the fall from...wherever you fell from"
"I wonder what happened for me to land on your tree..."
"Me too. But you don't remember so it's alright."
Cross stayed silent for a while. Just trying to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the garden. He had starting laying down on the grass. Asgore left to get something from inside. Then Cross started thinking. Thinking of the past, the present, and the future. Especially of the future. He really didn't know what he was going to do now since he doesn't know anything.
