Afternoon turned to night and I found myself thinking about the dove and the girl again. For some reason I think that dove was the dove from the prophecy, which meant I was the one who is prey. Quietly I started filling a bag with things; clothes, energy bars, water bottles, gloves and finally a set of knives my father gave me. I put warmer clothes on and my jacket and boots. Quietly I jumped out my window, landing on the soft green grass. The grass was wet with dew. A soft cool wind blew, making the leaves in the trees rustle, I waked quietly to the tree I first saw the dove in. looking up I saw the dove, watching me with beady eyes. Its head tilted and it started to fly off. I broke into a run, following the dove. It flew to a park and landed on a guy's shoulder. I walked up him and held my breath. "Ah, Gabriel, I've been waiting for you," The man said standing up. In the moonlight I could finally see the man. He seemed ageless, his eyes were a light crystal blue and his hair was black. He wore a long jacket over an expensive looking black suit. "If you don't mind me asking, how do you know me and who are you?" I said. He chuckled. "My name is Hades, child, and I am a god. I am the god that gave your family their amazing gifts." He said. I let that sink in. "Hades...god of the underworld...king of the dead..." I said, recalling what I remember from my Greek mythology subject. "Very good, I see you pay attention in class." He said, a smile forming on his lips. The smile was oddly comforting, and I found myself smiling back. "So, Gabriel, do you accept this quest?" he asked. "Yes..." I replied in a daze. "Wait what?!?!" I said, snapping out, Hades chuckled. "Do you accept the quest that goes with the prophecy your grandmother spoke?" he said, laughing. "Yes, I accept" I said confidently. He smiled, and for a second it seemed cruel, but that faded quickly. "good." he said and started walking away. I followed him uneasily. "I am leaving child, you need to start your quest." Hades said, not even looking back. "B-But where do I start? How will I know what to do? I ask nervously. "You will find a way." He said and disappeared into a cloud of mist. I sighed and looked around. I looked at my watch and what I saw surprised me. It was eight fifty-three a.m., but still as dark as midnight. "The day will die..." I recalled from the prophecy. Suddenly the earth started to shake. A gaping hole appeared in the ground. For some reason I felt compelled to step into the hole that lead to who-knows-where, so I did. I fell, the dark sky disappearing from above me and a red light emitting from below me. I hit the ground with a jolt. I looked around. Somehow, and I don't know how, I knew where I was. I was in Tartarus. Beside me was the river Phlegethon, The River of Fire...
