Earth 6969Wanda D. Maximoff; Regional Manager of J. Kirby Inc. over in Manhattan Valley, Manhattan. It's a well paying but demanding job only a 30 minute drive away from her home in Westview, New Jersey.
Being a manager is a stressful enough job in certain weeks but being a supporting single mother with two rambunctious boys at home can definitely be the pile on with your responsibilities.
She sighs fatigued, flipping through several pages from a dense packet going over this year's progress and other numerical pieces of data she wishes a machine could automate through it.
When she came to this country she was hoping the career path she'd choose would be exciting and give her vibrancy.
Recently she's been pretty slumped about everything happening in her life. She isn't around with the boys much, she can't remember the last time she really had a fun time to herself, and her brother is still overseas fighting in a war without response back.
She goes into the bathroom and turns to the mirror surprised, she moves closer and looks at herself in disbelief. She sees some visible silver strands in her brown hair and dark circles under her eyes.
She looks down at her watch, seeing it's already time to head out to lunch and doesn't waste anytime staying here.
She heads outside, finding the sunlight to be the most pleasant thing around here as she speed walks her way to Joe's Pizza nearby.
Meanwhile
Spider-Man and Vulture tangle it out in the air, the two wrestling against each other whilst crashing against the side of buildings and avoiding getting hit at high speeds by any cars or poles.
"You're really bugging me today!" Spider-Man grits his teeth underneath his mask, spraying some webbing into Vulture's visor causing him to blindingly whiz around blocks like a frantic fly.
"Uh oh!" Spider-Man's spider sense goes off seeing a helicopter in front of them, pushing Vulture's wing engines down towards the street below.
Wanda grabs her pizza and heads back towards the sidewalk before two blurry figures crash into the car in front of her like a speeding anvil, causing her to yelp back and drop her pizza on the ground.
Vulture was knocked out cold, his suit cushioning both bodies from serious fatal injuries. Spider-Man groans, slowly crawling out from the wreckage and leaning against the nearby traffic pole.
Wanda looks at Spider-Man shocked, she never saw the masked man this close before and she's been working on the city for nearly 7 years now.
People around her were taking pictures and recording him as he tries to regain himself but she feels she's the only one who noticed he's got a serious concussion.
She felt herself more unconditionally towards him till she was only inches away from him, kinda breathless she's this close to a superhero.
"You should seriously get medical help, I don't think swinging around with a concussion is a great idea." She tells him, his masked face looking to her but he can only see a blurry woman talking to him.
"Hospital no no, face secret." He tells her simply to avoid thinking much with his killer headache, gesturing to his face.
"Well you gotta go somewhere." She insists, helping lift him on to his feet as the two walk besides each other down the street.
She felt eyes on the two of them, making her feel anxious till Spider-Man put a hand of her shoulder and she turns to him with a surprised look.
"Thank you." He tells her, Wanda speechless but nods with a nervous smile and then he nearly collapses to the ground as his back radiates in burning pain. "Oh my back!"
"Oh Jeez!" She holds him up, nearly falling over doing so till the two take a turn into a alleyway and she leans him against the wall. "Seriously you need medical service Spider-Man, this ain't healthy." She tells him worryingly.
"You got a phone I could use?" He asks, Wanda digging through her purse and offers it to him. She watches him press some buttons and wait for a response.
"You there? Yeah I'm down man and I really could use a pickup." He tells the individual over the phone and hangs up handing it back to her.
"Thank you miss, I owe you one." He tells her, giving her a thumbs up. "I'll be fine from here."
"Oh, okay. Bye Spider-Man." She quietly says farewell to him and walks back to her workplace unsure how to take in what just transpired.
Hours past till she gets home as the nighttime washes over the sky.
"Boys I'm home!" She calls out as she enters inside, tossing her shoes aside and closing the doors.
"Mom you're on tv!" Billy calls out sounding excited.
"Yeah wicked cool!" Tommy replies.
"What?" She asks surprised, walking into the living room seeing the news talk about Spider-Man's recent duel with Vulture and calling her "The Good Samaritan" who helped Spider-Man.
"Mom I can't believe you helped Spider-Man that's freaking awesome!" Tommy exclaims awestruck at their mother.
"Um well I just did what had to be done." She replies taken aback, smiling at her boys. "Okay let's help me fix ourselves dinner."
"Okay super mom!" Billy says with glee as the two boys run over to the kitchen.
"Super mom..." She murmurs, looking back at the tv showing her helping Spider-Man.
