Following the incident in the diner we all decided to call it a day. Especially seeing that Dominic and I were both covered in food which was no doubt going to stain. Kelly and Chris were dropped off home first followed by Matt, and now it was just Dom and I left in the car.
It was silent for a few moments before he decided to speak up. "Sorry for ruining your clothes." Dom glanced at me, a small apologetic smile on his face.
I shrugged it off, not really bothered by the fact my top was stained red. "It's not that great of a top anyway." I lazily ran my finger along the bottom of the window. "Sorry for getting us banned from the diner."
"It wasn't that great of a diner anyway."
I let out a chuckle and returned my hand to my lap. "Matt was pretty upset."
Dom shrugged as he took the turn down my street. "He'll get over it."
I nodded knowing that he was probably right. Matt didn't seem like the type of person who would hold a grudge. I saw us getting closer to my house and pointed in the direction of our white picket fence. "It's this house here."
He pulled into my driveway and I began to unbuckle my seatbelt. "Thanks for dropping me off." I looked over at him as he put his car into park and I had to stifle a laugh. His hair was matted and sticking to his forehead from the chocolate milkshake I poured over him.
Dom reached a hand up and cringed as he tried to run it through his hair. "This is going to be fun to wash out."
"Did you want to use our shower?" I'm not too sure why I asked and I couldn't help but imagine Dom exiting the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his wait. I mentally slapped myself for letting my mind wander.
To my surprise Dominic shook his head saying no. "Thanks for the offer but I'll pass."
I nodded in response and exited his car. Before completely turning my back on him I gave Dom a small wave which he returned and headed towards my door. Before I had a chance to go inside, I heard my name being called.
I looked over to see Dominic walking over towards me. I tilted my head in questioning. "You alright?"
He nodded and then pulled something out of his pocket which I soon realised to be his phone. "Listen, I know you probably think I'm just some guy who wants to get in your pants..." I raised an eyebrow at him as I noticed Dominic was concentrating on anything but me. "What I'm trying to say is.. Could I get your number?"
I didn't think twice about it and nodded my head in confirmation. I couldn't resist because he looked so cute and vulnerable when he was nervous. Realising he still wasn't looking at me, I quickly let out a 'yes' and he looked up in surprise.
"Yes?"
"Do you want me to change my mind?" I teased, a smirk playing on my lips.
Dominic grinned cheekily at me as I took his phone and typed the number in. Once I handed it back to him, he started leaning in towards me and I felt my heart beating faster. Was he going to kiss me?
"I'll see you around." He whispered in my ear and I let out the breath I was holding in. He pulled away and gave me a smirk before turning around and going back to his car.
That boy was definitely trouble.

After Dominic had dropped me off home I ended up grabbing a blanket and curling up on the couch watching a 'Friends' marathon on TV. It wasn't long before I fell asleep and the next thing I knew, I was woken up by a loud vibrating sound on the table. I stared around the room bleary eyed until I realised my phone was lit up, signalling I had a text.
Have you had enough time to think?
I furrowed my eyebrows as I read the text, trying to figure out who it was and what it meant. A few minutes went by and my mind was still trying to process what was happening... That was until my phone vibrated again.
It's Dom, by the way.
Now it all made sense. I rolled my eyes at him even though he couldn't see me and began to reply.
If I knew you were going to be texting me randomly in the middle of the night, I would have never agreed to give you my number.
Satisfied with the reply, I grabbed my blanket and dragged myself up the stairs and to my room.
Ouch. Don't be like that, baby ;)
I let out a laugh as I flopped down on my bed and propped myself up against the pillows.
I'm sure there's a ton of other girls who are dying to go out with the Dominic Howard.
"Ella?" I looked up from my phone to see my mum standing in the doorway. "What are you still doing up?"
I put my phone down on my bedside table and ran my hands through my hair. "Sorry, I didn't realise the time." I moved over slightly as she sat down next to me. "How was work?"
She shrugged as she leant back on my pillows, making herself comfortable. "Tiring. How was school? Any cute boys?"
I let out a laugh as my mum raised her eyebrows suggestively at me. That was the thing I loved about her. Although we had the typical mother/daughter relationship, with her grounding me and whatnot for doing the wrong thing, she was also like one of my best friends. "It was pretty good. There's this one guy though..."
She grinned and clapped her hands together. "Do tell!"
"He's really cute and everything, but he seems like the type of guy who just wants to get in your pants and that's the end of that." My phone vibrated loudly against the table, drawing our attention. I let out a sigh as I reached for it. "And that would be him still pestering me about a date."
"I say give him a chance." I raised an eyebrow at my mum's response and she rolled her eyes at me. "Don't look so surprised! The poor boy is trying. All you have to do is go on one date with him and if you don't enjoy it or he doesn't seem like the type of guy you want a relationship with then tell him straight out."
"You're so wise!" I praised, as she pulled me in for a hug and got off my bed. "Love you, mum."
"Love you too, sweetie." My mum gave me a smile and closed the door softly behind her.
My attention was now drawn back to the situation at hand. Do I give Dominic a chance or should I just quit while I'm ahead? I shook my head and unlocked my phone to read the latest text he sent me.
I don't want them.
My heart felt like it skipped a beat as I read those words. This boy was making me feel so many emotions at once that it felt like my head was going to explode. I sat there for a few moments, trying to comprehend what it was that I was going to do. What felt like forever passing by, I finally made my decision and began to text him back.
You win.
Hey guys. Just want to let you know that I'm going away for a week in a few days so I probably won't be posting the next chapter for a little while. I will try my hardest to post it as soon as possible though! Thank you to my lovely readers who leave a comment whenever I update. It really does mean a lot!
