The rest of the school day had passed by smoothy and luckily for me, none of the teachers had decided to give us any homework. I made my way to my locker and had just started shoving my things in when Kelly approached, hand in hand with a guy I hadn't met.
"Hey Ella!" She gave me a bright smile and then nodded in the direction of the unfamiliar face. "This is my boyfriend Chris."
He gave me an equally as bright smile and I could instantly see why the two were together. "Hi! So you're coming with us to the diner?"
I nodded in response and gave them a smile of my own. "Yep! I'm just going to text my mum so she knows. I'll meet you guys at the gates if you like?"
"Sounds good!" Chris gave me a thumbs up and Kelly waved enthusiastically as they both headed down the hallway.
I closed my locker and pulled out my phone to begin texting. My mum wasn't going to be home until midnight anyway, but she likes to know if I'm going anywhere just incase. Her shifts at the hospital did make me feel lonely at times, but I was getting used to it.
My eyes were glued to my phone as I walked down the hallway, so I hadn't noticed the person in front of me until it was too late. I let out a small squeal as I collided with them and felt myself falling backwards. I was too focussed with holding a tight grip on my phone that I hadn't even tried stabling myself. Just as I thought I was about to hit the ground, I felt a pair of strong hands grip my shoulders and pull me up.
"Falling for me already, Ella?" I recognised his voice instantly.
Dominic Howard stood in front of me, smirking as always. I rolled my eyes and shrugged his hands off which were still gripping my shoulders. "You are so lame."
He grinned at me and I felt the familiar feeling of butterflies in my stomach. "Hey, I just saved your life! You should be showering me with love and appreciation!"
I raised my eyebrow at him in amusement. "You'd like that, wouldn't you?" I hadn't meant it to sound flirty but it had seemed to come out that way and Dominic's face lit up with a cheeky grin.
"Did you want to go out with me sometime?" He asked, confidence practically seeping through his pores.
As we walked along together I decided I was going to play dumb. I wasn't giving into him that easily. "Well, we're going to the diner now..."
The look on his face told me he hadn't expected that reponse but it was quickly masked by his usual confident smirk. "I meant just the two of us."
"I don't know..." I trailed off, shrugging my shoulders. I could hear the chatter of the group we were meeting as we neared the gates and felt myself getting nervous. I looked over at Dominic and gave him a small smile. "I'll think about it."
Dominic seemed to sense that I was nervous because he gave me a small smile and placed a hand on my shoulder. He pulled me slightly closer so he could lean down near my ear and say something so no one would over hear.
"Take it easy. There's only one other person you need to meet and that's our group." I almost missed what he said because I was too busy noticing the way his lips brushed by my ear as he spoke.
Before I could say thank you, I heard a voice shout my name and Dominic took that as his que to take his hand off my shoulder and lean away. Kelly, being a female, was the only one to notice the movement and raised an eyebrow at me. I ignore the look in hopes that she wouldn't question us in front of the other guys and she seemed to take the hint.
"Ella, this is Matt." She gestured to the boy standing next to Chris. If I wasn't already crushing on Dominic, I would have definitely considered Matt.
